Copthorne Hotel Plymouth, hotel in Kingsand

The Copthorne Hotel Plymouth is a city-centre hotel with views of Armada Way towards the famous Hoe and Barbican. It is 5 minutes’ walk from Drake Circus and Armada shopping centres.

We have been to this hotel several times since September 2023 and every time we have experienced an excellent stay. The staff are extremely friendly, polite and professional - this is in all aspects e.g. reception, cleaners, bar, maintenance staff. This is our 'go to' hotel because we are confident that we will have an excellent stay. There is consistency in the service delivered by staff, facilities and food. Excellent location to university student accommodation and to the town centre. This adds to the comfort and convenience of the stay.

Kingsand, and its twin village Cawsand, are straight out of a storybook. These extremely charming villages are tucked into the Cornish seaside and literally whisk you away to another dimension. Getting there is a bit of a challenge by car, but so very worth it. Pretty much all of Cornwall is, and these villages are outstanding examples. A must visit!

Kingsand and Cawsand are huddled in a secluded bay with wonderful views out to sea and to the entrance to Plymouth harbour - far enough away not to be disturbed but close enough for lots of interest. The combined villages have five pubs all of which serve food - so its well served and atleast two have entertainment. It is a most tranquil nearly serene part of Cornwall and I would thoroughly recommend it as a base to venture out to the busier parts.

Nice little town on the beautiful Rame peninsula by the sea and completely uncommercialised. The only problem was the very narrow streets you need to drive through to get into the town and I would imagine that in the summer season the car park would be packed and there is nowhere else to park.

The twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are a great destination for families, friends and couples. There are safe beaches, good pubs with delicious food, and small shops to re-stock your supplies. We really enjoy the food at the Devonport, Halfway House and the Rising Run. They all have occasional local seafood e.g. lobsters, crabs, mackerel. Regarding disabled access, it is easy to get around, but the streets are quite steep.

The accommodation is superb and the location just a few metres from the beach and sea couldn't have been better. The villages of Kingsand and Cawsand (next to each other) have a few shops and places to eat. There are three pubs serving good food and local beers. They are all dog friendly as are the beaches. There are some stunning coastal walks. A car is needed to get around and to explore the area properly if staying for any length of time.

So pretty whether by day or night.

So pretty whether by day or night. Very small area next to Cawsand sharing 5 pubs between them so plenty of choice for eating out. Very quiet area with pretty views of the coast and the clocktower. Only there for a short time as went to a wedding at Polhawn Fort. It's not walking distance to the fort but getting taxis was not a problem.
