Every detail is lovingly designed so that you can feel comfortable. There are lots of little treats, many books, games, DVDs and TV programs for rainy days. The landscape is also very beautiful.

The main PH was charming. Unfortunately the Restaurant area was closed due to lack of bookings so our main meal was in the bar area.
The Rose and Crown is set in a 16th-century coaching inn, hosting live music/DJ in the pub on weekends. The property is a 35-minute drive from Cambridge, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

You get what you pay for ... it's an old pub that's in the very early stages of being re-furbished ... the room with shower / toilet was a bit cramped but still functional, the bed comfortable, linen and towels clean and fresh, no TV channels (but I didn't ask if there were any) and no breakfast (but there's a Wetherspoons 5 minute walk away) ... the bar staff were friendly - I didn't try the restaurant but it looked reasonable ... basically for the price, you can't expect the Ritz, but for somewhere to crash overnight with an early start the next morning it's worth considering

The staff were amazing and accommodated our request to move rooms. The food was 10/10 and the continental breakfast is no longer bought to your room, but served in the restaurant which is nicer.
Our first room was a bit dated so we requested a move and the staff were excellent and moved us straight away.

The location is really convenient for railway station, if you need to go to central Cambridge, just take a bus or walk like 25min. The staff is friendly and there are bar and cafe on the ground floor, also some food choices and Sainsbury's local just a few metres away.
