With free WiFi, free parking and a fine restaurant, this hotel used to be a country club. It is in quiet, rural Hopwood, 2.5 km from the M42 and well placed for central Birmingham.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The spa facilities were great, with a properly hot sauna and steam room. My room was spacious and comfortable with all the usual facilities, and it was nice and quiet at night. The evening meal was a carvery which was good value, and breakfast was good too.

If they have a function on do not go ,waited to be seated for dinner for an hour as a paying guest very helpful reception staff well done James duty manager refused to see me about complaint regarding dinner situation disgusting incompetent individual, scott is a insult to the industry. To owner if you have a function on get more staff in so paying guests can have a meal after travelling all day and employ a duty manager who can give customer service like reception.Thaks for ruined stay SCOTT

Clean the bedrooms and toilets properly, let your guests have usage of the heat they want, out a fridge in the guests bedroom so we can bring some essentials in and answer the reception phone as I have been completely ignored.

Westmead hotel was ideally situated for the work I was doing in the area so made the trip very worth while, could have done with staying the night before too as to me a very long time to get to my place of work on the Thursday morning due to the weather and flooded roads.

cant comment on food as didnt eat there.
suprised no disabled room
Room was great - ticked all the boxes. We had a nice evening meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was terrible - probably the worst hotel breakfast I have ever had. Always running out of breakfast items. No buffet facilities barring a few variety boxes or ceral, some toast and fruit juice. Food served by people who acted like they didn't want to be there. Shame really because we had enjoyed it up until then.
The rooms are a good size and the bed is huge. I like that there is a bath option as well as a shower, and shower gel is available. There is everything I need for a comfortable stay, large TV with accessible HDMI port, hairdryer, iron, tea-making facilities. The hotel corridors are always quiet on week nights and I get a good night's sleep.
Although the general check-in was 3pm, we spoke to the hotel the day before arrival where the hotel was happy to accommodated us and our room ready for an early arrival at 12pm due to travelling and a family gathering which started at 2pm.
This has got to be one of the best hotels I have stopped in. the staff were lovely and helpful they have done an excellent job with the room and the stay was very enjoyable. Will definitely be back…may move in 😉
