Nice location in traditional British Village. Old style property that feels like you're staying in the mediaeval times. Had a decent desk for working. Good local amenities.
Really enjoyed our day here . They opened early as they were expecting to be busy so we got our castel tour over with before the crowds. Great for any Downton Abbey fans!! Lovely gardens and grounds . Plenty to do for a day. Loved the appearances of Lord and Lady Carnavon during the day. Lovely cocktail bar selling fizz.

The place itself is fine. Not overcrowded with tourists.
The place itself is fine. Not overcrowded with tourists. But the lecture offered as part of the tour should be about the house, not about other estates that are not related to England/United Kingdom, and the period. I did not travel to Highclere to hear about estates in the USA. People go there to hear the story of this house brought into the public attention worldwide by the TV series "Downton Abbey". Tell us the story of YOUR house !
