The entire staff team were excellent. Hayden and Kim greeted me at the door, Adam was very efficient and Holly was great asset had to contend w with my emails.
The breakfasts w ere good and the Inn was able to cope brilliantly with our group of Old Shebbearians,a wedding party and an Inn full of customers.

Prior to our stay we sent over some enquiries and received very prompt and friendly replies with helpful information (follow Ray & Anne's advice about satnav directions).
The cottage is set in a tranquil location, easy to find, with parking on site. We were greeted by Ray who showed us where we would have breakfast the following day, and then to our room which overlooked woodland from the side window and the wooded bank and treehouses to the rear, with bird feeder hung over the Juliet balcony.
We were going out again to meet family, and were given the front door key for access later that evening.
The room was comfortable, clean, and peaceful, with great facilities including a kettle, large mugs, cafetiere and fresh coffee, plus instant coffee, a variety of tea, and biscuits, plus fresh milk in the fridge on the landing. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, though the bed was a little creaky : /
In the cosy breakfast room there was a lovely woodburner. Ray provided a superb breakfast, absolutely delicious, with more than we could eat which set us up for the day ahead.
We would highly recommend Kingsley Cottage, a wonderful place to stay.

We didn't go to site see we went to pick up a second hand...
We didn't go to site see we went to pick up a second hand very specialised mobility scooter. The reason the trip down was too long is that we now have our first electric car, but stopping every 100 miles with a wait averaging 1 hour for each stop, it was very drawn out. We missed getting to our pre booked accommodation as we didnt get there untill 11.30, it was all locked up and lights off and it was too late to find a travel lodge all receptions had closed for the night. We had to find accomodation for our 2 dogs as well as us so we had to sleep in the car over night and in mid November it was bitterly cold and damp. The next day we got going for the scooter and hit a pot hole at 9am, we rang the RAC they didn't get to us until 3.30 in the afternoon, only to be told the tyre had a side wall split so needed a new tyre.Graig from the RAC could not do enough for us he rang round to find anyone with the correct tyre, this came from a local mobile tyre fitter who arrived 90 minuets later. We was supposed to be heading home this day but with a 12 hour journey we rang the hotel that we missed the night before and they honoured our day we missed and put us up on the second night with no extra payment so a big thank you to the George in Hatherleigh for being so accomodating. Thank you so much to a very very long couple of days.

Very quirky hilly town (the smallest town in Devon).
Very quirky hilly town (the smallest town in Devon). Many of the buildings were original cob and thatch. Great community market on Tuesday morning, though original cattle market has now closed. A couple of pubs, fish and chips and cafe. Co-op for supplies and money, along with Post Office and other shops. Church has very pleasant chimes on hour and quarters. Fast flowing river at bottom of town near Architectural salvage and fire station. Lovely walks around the town and over the common (too wet when we were there)

Great place and location for what we wanted sadly the new years band cancelled last minute but the manager didn't replace with any music through a defective speaker system. This should have been tested before hand just in case. Therefore celebrating new year was somewhat flat.
