Hickstead Hotel, hotel in Hassocks

The Hickstead Hotel is in quiet Sussex countryside, a short drive from Brighton and Gatwick Airport. It has free parking, free Wi-Fi and en suite rooms. The Hickstead Hotel is close to the A23.

The property had an awful smell of drains. The breakfast had only one member of staff on her own to deal with everyone. Their was no toast available for breakfast. I was asked to pay an additional £20 upon arrival which I questioned. The place is in need of a good refurb.

Cute and well fitted out with all necessities for my stay. Good size for 1 or 2 travellers. Once I had the instructions how to get there and for entry, everything was easy. Easy to park. Nice and private and felt safe and secure. Compact yet still with space to move about in. Not too far to the nearest big village (Hassocks) and shops. There is a foot path all the way, so is possible to walk if you wanted (tho bring a torch if it's dark because there's no street lighting near the end).

It was a welcome break from hotel rooms, and this hut had all the facilities that you need for a weekend. There is also a nice pub next door with good pub grub and a pleasant atmosphere. It is also a nice area to explore the South Downs, National Trust properties, and towns like Lewis—or the City of Brighton. The Hut was immaculate in all respects, and very helpful owner.

Our room was very comfortable and the ensuite shower room was utra-modern and clean, with a very good shower. We couldn't fault it, and it was in a convenient location being situated in the centre of Hassocks.
