Dunes Hotel, hotel in Hartley

Set in Whitley Bay, 1.1 km from Whitley Bay, Dunes Hotel offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

If you can stay anywhere else for three nights at 105 pounds and still get a good night's sleep, a clean and relatively quiet room, let me know. This is good value for those of us who don't wish to pay three times as much just to get 'muzak in the lift, an £18 breakfast, thick towels, and the feeling of having had 'an hotel experience". The host Vince was very forthcoming in a natural way and advised a nearby Italian restaurant which was also value for money. It is very conveniently located just 2 mins walk from a metro station with 1/4 hourly trains to city centre which takes a mere 30 minutes. With so many hotels now in a boring chain, long may places like this remain.

Great host, with a lot to say about local affairs, venues, and history. Excellent large rooms, renovated and comfy. Large outside space. Anything you like for the breakfast, which is included in the decent price. It's a decent place to stay, but don't expect nightlife on the doorstep.

this is such a great place for those of you who like beach walks and sea air. The location is a great base for both the promenade and town as well as travelling further up the coast for more remote and historical areas. One of my favourite places to go.

It is a quiet location seaview and a short walk to beach. Local bus route to blyth and whitleybay through to newcastle. Also a nice long walk to the lighthouse and coast. A few local pubs and a club in the area.

Have a walk round the watch house museum and look at the driftwood sculptures. A stroll along Collywell Bay Road is nice. Head down into the Dene and have a walk up along the river. There is a lot of history of the brick kilns and Seston Delaval Hall is just up the road.
