Mike was an excellent host, he gave us great recommendations for where to eat. The room was beautiful, clean and perfect for accessing grasmere village. We also ate at Mike's cafe Freda and Ray which has the best coffee in the village.

Very comfortable. Warm and plenty of hot water. Having two wood burners was fantastic! Clean and well equipped(especially the kitchen). Comfortable beds in both rooms. Nice welcome box.

Situated in Patterdale, 17 km from World of Beatrix Potter, The Brotherswater Inn features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.
Glenridding the gateway to Ullswater. I chose the Ullswater Inn for it's location as it's right in the heart of everything. Access to Lake Ullswater is a stones throw from the Inn. Plenty of walks and beautiful scenery, whatever the weather.
The food at the Ullswater is prepared fresh to your order and is of a high standard, no need to go looking to eat elsewhere. I can fully recommend the porridge at breakfast.
Chris and the team really make you feel welcome and do everything they can to make your stay a thing to remember.

Very beautiful location with quaint cafés and plenty of hiking trails. The lake offers more experiences too. There is a lot of nature to explore. It is also quiet and peaceful. The locals and warm and hospitable while other hikers and outdoorsy people are friendly too.
It is a tad difficult to drive around due to the road quality in some places. The ferry across the lake stopped services fairly early too (around 5pm).
Food and drink is good. There are plenty of local beers to try and lots of vegan options too in multiple cafés.

An excellent hotel met all our expectations.
An excellent hotel met all our expectations. Location & surroundings are spectacular. We did the walk from Glenridding to Howtown it was very challenging to inexperienced walkers but the views were stunning. On our way home we stopped off at Lowther Castle which was lovely .

Lovely small village comprising mostly natural stone built...
Lovely small village comprising mostly natural stone built properties extending up the valley. One of the main access routes for those wishing to visit Helvelyn & nearby mountains. Also main access to the Steamboat ferry - so its quite a busy place. (Beware - the Steamboat may cancel at short notice - leaving you stranded miles from where you want to get to.!!). Several eating & drinking establishments available - all those visited were busy. Main road through the village is quite busy.
Would recommend a visit.
Thank you to Daniel, who waited at reception and made me a sandwich when I arrived after midnight on the first night, delayed due to traffic. This set the tone for the entire stay. The breakfast was fabulous, as was dinner. The friendliness and genuine tone of the staff was heartwarming. Everything was spot on, everyone was welcoming, the service was outstanding. I recommend the Inn on The Lake to everyone! It is a home from home and I'll be back!
The staff were very attentive and always smiling. They always had time for a conversation with you. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Loads of tea and coffee. Easy parking and easy to get to anywhere in Glenridding. It was only 1 mile to walk to Patterdale, which is the next village along. The breakfast was first class. Loads on the plate to keep you going for the day. We would defenitly stay here again.
What stands out most of all is the friendly, helpful, smiling attitude of ALL STAFF that we came into contact with. Nothing, I mean NOTHING was a problem or hassle, everything we asked for was delivered with a smile.
The hotel is to undergo a £2m upgrade next year. This should make the place even better (but please keep all the same staff).
On arrival I was greeted with a warm smile, and helped up to my room with my case, as it was very heavy. At breakfast there was a good selection from yogurts to fruit ,and of course the menu to choose from, can highly recommend the full English breakfast, also the service was very good too.
The property is in woodland and there are deer who visit the garden. Glenridding is in walking distance and there are several places to eat and drink and shops there. It is a good base for walking and the walks around Ullswater are lovely and not too strenuous.
Wasn't expected the cleanliness of the toilets, they were like in hotels, sparkling clean which i didn't see in other YHA toilets normally though they were for both, no separate for male/female. Had wonderful dinner with very helpful staff. Location is amazing.
Very clean, nice shared space.
In the kitchen, you should find everything you need for cooking.
The beds were pretty comfy. < 10 mins from the bus station. The room was spacious.
Checked in quickly and a bit earlier. Friendly staff.
The hotel offers traditional comfort with beautiful views of the mountains and lake. The staff work very efficiently as a team and are all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing base to explore the Lakes.
This is a well equipped cosy cottage in the middle of Glenridding, on the walk up to Helvellyn. A lovely welcome pack was provided. A stunning sun room on the third floor provided panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Everything! Rooms were spacious and clean, staff were lovely, food was delicious! Hotel is 100 yards from the Glenridding Steamer so not too far to walk. shop right across the street, beautiful area for walking.
Great location, beautiful views. Nice bar area, breakfast area.
Nice grounds to walk around. Restaurant was nice with waiters and waitresses attentive. Food was good for a hotel restaurant.
Comfortable bed, room size was great, good view of the mountain from my window, shower/bath was good. It was great location to get to Helvellyn, the best was was the shop outside the hotel.
Excellent location in the heart of Glenridding. Building is historic and thus has some quirks but the room was very large, everything was clean, and I enjoyed me stay there.
