Lovely big room with a large bathroom. King size bed!!
Perfect location just outside the walls. Delicious full English along with a continental buffet.
Staff was perfect, friendly and very helpful!
Overlooking the spectacular York Minster, this elegant Georgian residence is set in the heart of the historic center of the city, just a short walk from medieval streets lined with modern boutiques.

This hotel and restaurant is wonderful from the decor to the breakfast to the lovely staff. It's literally on the doorstep to the minister and the town centre. This lovely place and staff made our stay so special. Thank you.

Great location for a stay within striking distance to York & outlet shopping centre. Bus runs every 15mins direct through village to both locations, literally takes no more than 20min. Good pub in grounds of Parsonage hotel & a Thai restaurant that also does takeout, excellent food at both.

We have stayed at the parsonage 4 times and wouldn’t go back if it was rubbish.
The spa is lovely. Swimming pool, big jacuzzi , several steam rooms. The treatments were fairly priced.
The fat fryer has a great menu and again good prices.
The area (Escrick) is out of the way and unless you have a car you could be marooned. I didn’t see any busses but I understand it is on a route.
I’m looking forward to going again soon.

We liked the lovely garden surroundings which were immaculate, the lounge and conservatory where we could relax and the swimming pool and jacuzzi which was excellent.
A good bus service into York was very helpful.
The staff struggled slightly with service at breakfast time when the hotel became very busy.

The establishment was not as good as advertised.
The establishment was not as good as advertised. Definitely wouldn’t recommend or class as 4 star.
Checkin experience was rubbish as did not have the room ready for check in time given on website.
Spa outdated needs a refurbishment and the loungers really close to the floor (no legs on them) making it difficult getting back up from them.
Room was too hot and had to have fan on and windows open all night.
The milk was off in the room and no bin in the main room only in the bathroom.
The only good thing I can say was that the Abbott pub which was on site was very nice with great staff and lovely food and plenty of parking.
We won’t be going to this hotel and spa again as very disappointing

nothing there as far as i could tell, yorkshire water doing work right outside the hotel , did not really bother us until they switched the water off for a whole day, that is not the hotels fault but there again they should complain to the water company as it happens quite often according to staff. on the whole disappointed with visit.

Slightly disappointing as it looked amazing venue.
Slightly disappointing as it looked amazing venue. It could be spectacular but the receptionist struggled to smile and took ages to do things, breakfast tepid, carpets a bit grubby and had 1980s feel to it
When we arrived we were given quite small rooms towards the back of the main hotel. We were then tranferred to The Couch House I think, where the rooms were much bigger, brighter and had walk in showers in both our rooms.
The breakfast were very good and the staff very very friendly. The spa facilities were great and we had treatments every day.
We also ate in the restaurant in the evenings and enjoyed all our meals.
The Cloisters spa facilities were really nice, we enjoyed two visits there during our stay.
The adjoining Pub The Fat Abbot was a lovely location for a relaxing drink with nice outdoor seating for the lovely weather we had. The Manager and his team were all very friendly attentive & welcoming. Sunday lunch was really good and plentiful. The staff in the main hotel were all very pleasant and helpful.
This is a great hotel on the main bus route into the city of York. It has an added bonus of having a spa and a gym, of which I used both. The spa was open till 9 pm too which was great after a long day walking around the city. The Fat Abbot restaurant which is in the grounds of the hotel seems to be a hit for its food. My chicken and leek pie was particularly tasty.
Nice hotel! The rooms were a good size and very comfortable.
Spacious bathroom, with separate bath and shower.
The pub close by was convenient for our evening meal, which was lovely (although for adult men, portions size a bit on the small side 😉).
Didn't use spa and/or swimmingpool.
Breakfast was good, enough choice for everyone.
Such a beautiful location and hotel. Clean, friendly with lovely Spa facility. Our food was always very good. The staff at breakfast were exceptional, food was always fresh and plates cleared quickly The Parsonage was highlight of our 2 weeks traveling holiday.
The best spa facilities and pool I've been to so far(and I've been to a lot)lovely church next door, and public transport a 5 minute walk away, which takes you to a designer outlet(10 minutes)or into the centre of york(20 minutes)
The hotel managed to put us up on the morning of our stay after our previous hotel (The Black Bull) rang to cancel all reservations.
The staff in the bar/restaurant and breakfast room were helpful and friendly.
The hotel location is excellent, the range of Spa facilities is good (but not something we needed), the Fat Abbot caters for food and drink, our room was conveniently situated in the Parsonage.
Great location, you could get a bus into York outside the hotel, which saved on parking cost in the town center as it’s expensive. The spa was excellent and the gym is well equipped,
Good spa facilities. Friendly staff. Grounds of the hotel are very nice. Overnight 22kw EV charging (only cost effective if you are near empty, as it’s a £30 flat fee).
Clean , comfortable, good value , good access to York ( especially the park and ride) and good breakfast. The availability of a 3 adult room. Parking close to hotel.
We stayed one night after attending a funeral wake at the venue. The catering at the wake was excellent. The hotel has character, with a relaxed ambience.
