The location is perfect for walking around Exmoor next to the iconic Tarr steps, The room had all the necessary requirements and even though the windows were a little draughty and the wind was cold the central heating kept the room comfortable. Breakfast was good and the restaurant food is delicious, All the staff were so accommodating and helpful. Lovely place to stay.

Tom is a fantastic host, the location is remote enough for a quiet break but close enough for walks and pubs.
Homemade flapjack was delicious!
We suggested including a little bit of the history of the buildings and land and it would also be really good to have a map of the land which includes the walks on their own property as they likely have a few hidden gems to explore.
We would definitely book again in the future :)

Everything, very comfy bed, floors creaked but to be expected in such an old property.
Nice and quiet countryside setting. Great for self-catering apartments, but no local shops. Bit of a drive (to Tiverton) if you wanted to eat out. Watch out for the single lane local roads, often with high hedges either side. Anstey used to have a train station and sign is still there, but it was closed in the 60's with all the other local closures. wild foxgloves are great in the summer.

It's a pretty small village.
It's a pretty small village. Not much to do, but the surrounding area is full of places to walk, attractions and other things to do. It's a short journey to Dulverton, which a very attractive little town and of course, Exmoor is just up the road. Not great for the beaches (too far to drive), but spot on for walkers, who want a quiet base to explore North Devon and Somerset.
