Beds were comfy, room was clean, pretty big room, staff was very friendly and the general vibe of the place (ambience, decor, etc.) was great. We enjoyed the stay.

The pub is in a very good location on the high street. It has a car park at the back for guests. The room was clean if basic. Good shower. A couple of cafes nearby for breakfast seeing as the pub doesn't serve any food. Had dinner at Jicsaw, the Thai restaurant, it was fabulous. Key box on the wall so you can drop keys and go when you want in the morning.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this excellent hotel and we couldn't be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and impeccable service. The quality of the facilities is truly exceptional; from the comfort of the rooms to the breathtaking views they offer.
The indoor pool and sauna are perfect for relaxing after a day of exploration, and the restaurant offers a sublime culinary experience. Every dish was a delight to the senses, and the attention to detail in presentation and flavor was simply spectacular.
Without a doubt, this hotel exceeded all our expectations and has become our favorite place to stay. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in a setting of luxury and comfort.

Cricklade Village very close to the hotel.
Cricklade Village very close to the hotel. We ate at The Red Lion (need to book online) and the food was home cooked and very tasty and not badly priced at all. Cosy fire too which is always a welcome sight in the Winter months. We based ourselves here so that we could cycle the back lanes and we travelled through wonderful small villages and hamlets. Stopped off in Cirencester for coffee stop, looks an amazing town and wished I could have mooched around the many shops (bikes prevented this). All in all a great two night stay in the area.

Cricklade is an interesting town.
Cricklade is an interesting town. I was there to sing in the church, which as a huge tower for such a small building. Shops ... well, not a huge choice. But it's a good starting point for other places, with fast access to the motorway network.

The hotel is tired, dirty and run on a shoestring and vastly overpriced, I dare not use the spa after experiencing the poor level of cleanliness in my room and elsewhere. Male receptionist needs to change his career away from customer facing. The restaurant staff were all helpful and jovial and the view from the restaurant was stunning.
They desperately need to get help and investment into this property or it will close.

Great spa facilities and clean and modern changing rooms.
Great spa facilities and clean and modern changing rooms. Views from restaurant were good.
The room had a musty smell, there were squashed flies on the roller blinds, very tired and damaged pine furniture, no door knob on the wardrobe, discoloured and broken toilet seat, vanity mirror tilted backwards, duvet was too small for the bed. No curtains or soft furnishings and the decor was not tasteful or attractive.
The restaurant menu was very limited (5 mains and 3 desserts ) and no fresh vegetables!
The breakfast was good, and continental options were available alongside cooked breakfast options, too. There is a lot to choose from, toast with jams, pastries, and yoghurts in continental. Full English, eggs benny and everything in between in the cooked options. Location of the hotel is great for the Cotswolds, sitting between Cirencester and Swindon, just a short drive down from Stow, Bibury, and Bourton-on-the-water.
The room was great! Quiet with nice view of Cricklade. Iain, the host is not always there, but he guides you in with the appropriate door codes and directions. There is unlimited street parking almost right outside, so good in that respect too. When you leave you just lock up and pop the key in the safe outside the door. Real value for money accommodation.
We loved the town of Cricklade and our wonderful stay at the White Hart Hotel. We were able to get two nights on a busy holiday weekend off the beaten path in the Cotswolds and were very glad we stayed. The staff and room were both fabulous. We recommend the hotel highly.
Such a wholesome experience at The Vale Hotel! Couldn’t recommend this lovely accomodation more. Ian was a lovely owner and helped us with everything we needed. The bed was ridiculously comfortable (we tried to see the brand so we could purchase one ourselves haha).
Location of the pub was good and in a convenient place for access to other facilities in Cricklade.
The room was spacious and well-appointed with comfortable beds and adequate bedding. It was clean and at the back of the property, so quiet at night
great staff. right in the middle of a nice little town. could sit outside in the rear courtyard. although there was no parking at the hotel, the free public car park was a 5 minute walk away. the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean.
We were walking the Thames Path. The hotel was ideally placed on our route and the room was ideal. The food was well prepared using fresh and quality ingredients. The staff were very helpful and made our short stay very pleasant.
In the morning we found it was the weekend when the Cricklade festival was on, we were not expecting this but really enjoyed the day. This was a real bonus and was a good end to our trip.
Nice hotel in a nice location. Room was comfortable. We were staying overnight for a triathlon so did not get to sample the breakfast or the other facilities, but i might return.
The hotel has plenty of character. Old woodwork and a view on the Main Street. We felt in the middle of it, yet it was very quiet at night. Staff was very friendly.
