Attractive stone-built village surrounding the eponymous castle - a magnificent historic monument. In an area of outstanding natural beauty, with surrounding countryside excellent for walking, and not far from the sea at Swanage. Several good places to eat in village.

Very interesting castle ruin to visit run by the National Trust. Corfe Castle village itself is a quaint and picturesque place with several pubs, cafes and shops to explore. The heritage Swanage Railway line also has a station at Corfe Castle and is well worth a visit.

Corfe Castle and the village is a great place to stay, explore, relax. Being a member of the National Trust is very useful, not just to view the castle but also the times you may continue to view the castle. Ate always at Mortons Manor where we were staying.

Inspirational setting. Staff were very friendly & helpful. The site is great to explore with fantastic views. The information boards are interesting & full of diverse historical details and facts. An added bonus is the steam railway running along the viaduct. The Greyhound is fabulous, food is excellent, loved the accompanying music playlist, it hit just the right tone. Staff very obliging & friendly.

    It is a ruin.

It is a ruin. As my walkinng isn't too good, we went no further than the entrance gate. Must have been virtually impregnable before it was slighted after the Civil War. National Trust-more detailed info available.

Corfe Castle is a very favourite spot for any kind of break.

Corfe Castle is a very favourite spot for any kind of break. We come a handful of times per year. We visit when we're based nearby. We book a cottage in Corfe most years. It's just a lovely place and so near to good beaches and to the traditional sea-side town of Swanage. It's also well placed to visit anywhere else in the rest of Dorset - marvellous!
