The bed was exceptionally comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Staff were very friendly and helpful and dinner was great. We really had a great stay so thank you.
The hotel is in Llangollen town centre, looking out over the River Dee. It mixes original character with modern comforts, including free Wi-Fi, free parking and a riverside garden.

Breakfast was fine service was excellent, staff very good.
In a peaceful, idyllic setting, the hotel combines the traditional charm and attractive original features of a 19th-century building with the contemporary chic of extensive and luxurious spa...

Didn't have breakfast or use of the spa, but the room, staff, hotel itself and the grounds were immaculate.
An ideal place for visiting Llangollen and north wales, will definitely return when visiting north wales again.

I’ve visited Chirk on many occasions for business and leisure. The village is quieter since the building of the bypass. One feature to see is the aqueduct. Nearby Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is famous but Chirk Aquaduct is impressive too. It runs alongside the railway viaduct over a deep valley. At its north end the canal enters a tunnel.

Disappointing. Don't be taken in.
Disappointing. Don't be taken in. It's not really a castle, its a stately home and not a very interesting one at that. Only part of the 'castle' can be viewed, what can be seen is not very interesting and poorly presented and not set in context. There were no information screens, very little signage and what information there was consisted of 'this is a painting of a person you've never heard of. This is another'. At £15 per person (!) this was grossly over-priced and certainly not worth the money

Unfortunately we were returning home from one funeral to prepare for another in a couple of days so we did not have time to visit any where except the adjacent restaurant but it looked a pleasant little town with lots of local sites such as the castle and Pontcysyllte aqueduct

We took a dayboat hire for the family out of the Anglo Welsh marina at Trevor and travelled down the canal down to Chirk, passing over the famous aqueduct. Following day we went to the British Ironworks near Oswestry and saw the Knife Angel sculpture. A great day out.

The hotel is outside Chirk, a few minutes drive. The town is quite small but has a good free car park. We couldn't visit the castle as it was closed due to bad weather. The Llangollen canal is nearby and good for walking. The aqauaduct is interesting. It's easy to get to NT places, Llangollen, Oswestry and Snowdonia National Park.

Chirk is just a small Village but cute and it has coffee shops and gift shops. Llangollen is close and it's generally a nice area to drive around.
Walks along the canal are a bonus and this is close to the Lion Quays resort..
Plenty of easy and free parking in the hotel car park. Rooms were spacious and clean. The Poachers Pocket pub is across the quite busy road on the canal side. There is also a large garden centre with a cafe next door. The Lord Moreton pub on the other side is closed but I believe you can have breakfast there if you order it when you check in. A good base for a day or two at a reasonable price if you don’t need to be in town.
Has a mezzanine bedroom which is quite unusual. Very spacious as a result. Quiet so you get a good nights sleep. Parking certainly not an issue. Attached restaurant was closed when I was there but you have a brasserie a short walk away and a garden centre with a cafe etc in shopping hours. Chirk is quite close by (25 minute walk) and plenty more options there. Would happily use again.
The swimming pool and tennis courts were super, and the included breakfast was outstanding.
And the meals that we had from the on-site restaurant were great, with several tasty vegetarian options. The property was beautiful and quite well-maintained. Rooms were clean and spacious.
location was lovely close to the canal for nice walks into Chirk. Lovely double room with a nice view of the canal. Delicious breakfast and evening meals, staff very helpful and polite at all times during our stay. lovely Spa at the Hotel to relax and unwind with good facilities.
Resturant and spa are of a decent standard but the hotel and rooms are VERY dated and the pictures used by booking.com do not offer a true depiction of the rooms.
Very overpriced for what it is although I imagine a lot of it is for use of the leisure facilities.
Easy parking. Clean affordable rooms with plenty of space. Excellent breakfast.
Perfect for cycling the canal path to Llangollen via x2 aqueducts and x2 tunnels.
Staff friendly evening meal good at local pub within walking distance.
Easy parking. Very helpful & polite reception staff on arrival. Clean room - great bed. Great location for our needs - easy walk home from a wedding at the Spa Hotel. Attentive helpful staff at breakfast.
The spa, pool, steam facilities etc, we're among the best I Have ever seen, especially the pool, it was very big with lovely ambient lighting.
This is the hotels one stand out star point.
We loved the bar and restaurant at the waterside - luckily we can’t fault the food or service here, also access to spa facilities was ok it’s just a shame about the hotel - thank you
After a busy day we were able to have a relaxing drink and a delicious dinner. Friendly staff. Great base for visiting Chirk castle and the canal/aqueduct. Clean and comfortable.
Everything went well. From the hotel stay, to spa treatments, pool and steam room, the views, the staff, food and environment was very great and hospitality was well given.
Stayed here several times for work purposes and the hotel is absolutely fine. Everything works - quick Wi-Fi,. comfortable room, restaurant just next door, good service.
lovely rooms, food was amazing and the staff were great and friendly. lovely overnight stay and will be visiting again especially with it being a dog friendly hotel.
Lovely old hotel dating back a number of centuries but with modern convenience . Breakfast was a 10/10.
Staff were charming . An undiscovered part of Wales
