The Black Bull inn, hotel in Chillingham

The Black Bull Hotel is a 17th Century Inn standing in the main street of Wooler. It still retains much of its original character and is situated in one of the most picturesque parts of Northumberland....

The room was nicely presented, with a nice big bay window and a four poster bed. Comfy mattress (albeit very soft, but that's down to personal preference). Nice bathroom with towels, soaps etc.. all provided. A good selection of tea/coffee/biscuits and bottled water. Yorkshire teabags - added bonus. The breakfast the following morning was excellent - a great selection of quality sausages, haggis, black pudding and bacon. Excellent value for money. Would certainly reccommend.

A lovely greeting at door then up to room. Spacious room and large bathroom. Paulette made us tea with a homemade muffin which was lovely. Good night's sleep after a bath. The breakfast was really good made with fresh local produce. Really tasty. Best English breakfast we have had.

Riverside View - Large, modern 4 bedroom house with hot tub, hotel in Chillingham

Gorgeous house, great location. House was so comfy and huge. Much bigger than the pictures look. There was 4 adults and 2 children and we never seemed on top of each other. So much space. My granddaughter loved the play equipment in the garden and the hot tub. Walking distance into Wooler. Communication with Nicola was great. Loads of extras, x box, ( I think, my granddaughter would tell you better!) games even Sky sports on tv. Everything provided, towels, toilet rolls, shower gel, shampoo etc.

Chillingham Manor is a beautiful house in gorgeous grounds. We were staying for a wedding and the location was really handy plus the owner helped us with finding taxis which made life easier. The room was gorgeous, everything was spotless and the bed was super comfy. Our breakfast was also delicious. We’ll definitely be back but for longer!

An idyllic location in itself, picturesque and tranquil, and very close to internationally famous sites, such as Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian's Wall and the Kielder Forest Dark Skies. Nearby, there are myriad ancient churches and friendly pubs, with the latter often serving locally sourced meals for reasonable prices (and the former providing spiritual nourishment for free). I can't think of anything that I'd avoid on my next visit.
