The Old Mill in Wooler is the ideal stop along St Cuthbert’s way. We were very well looked after by the hosts, with a very comfortable clean room and lovely home cooked breakfast. Would recommend to anyone!

Beautiful Georgian house, with large well maintained grounds. We stayed in one of the suites, which consisted of bedroom with super-king bed, bathroom with a gorgeous rolltop bath and large separate shower, and a sitting room. Handy having a fridge in the room as I have medicine that must be kept cold. It was quiet and peaceful, and with the comfy bed, we slept really well. Breakfast had lots of choices and all very well cooked. Michelle couldn't do enough for us and made us very welcome. Easy drive to Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne, Sea Houses and Alnwick. Lots of local pubs to eat in. We loved our stay here.
Chillingham Manor is a beautiful house in gorgeous grounds.
Chillingham Manor is a beautiful house in gorgeous grounds. We were staying for a wedding and the location was really handy plus the owner helped us with finding taxis which made life easier. The room was gorgeous, everything was spotless and the bed was super comfy. Our breakfast was also delicious. We’ll definitely be back but for longer!

An idyllic location in itself, picturesque and tranquil, and very close to internationally famous sites, such as Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian's Wall and the Kielder Forest Dark Skies.
Nearby, there are myriad ancient churches and friendly pubs, with the latter often serving locally sourced meals for reasonable prices (and the former providing spiritual nourishment for free).
I can't think of anything that I'd avoid on my next visit.
