The Three Pickerels, hotel in Chatteris

A family-run Hotel, Restaurant & Bar set alongside the New Bedford River in Mepal, only 8 miles from Ely.

We loved the room because it was modern and comfortable with loads of natural light and a balcony overlooking the river. A good coffee machine in the room with regular and decaf pods was a very welcome additional, along with a mini bar and snacks. Good road links to Ely and the Fens. The staff we extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel/pub/restaurant are smart and we loved the breakfast room, also overlooking the river. The bar area is really nice and it's a pity we weren't there for longer or on a warmer day because the outdoor areas are another really lovely feature.

A quiet but lovely little town with a very friendly atmosphere and sense of community. A bonus of visiting in December is the Christmas lights, which add extra charm. The only negative, when visiting family in the town, is the lack of a railway station - without a car, it takes a cab ride from Ely or Huntingdon (the nearest stations) to get there.

I liked the quaintness of the hotel, and as we were on the top floor, there were quite a few stairs to climb, which kept us fit! The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom had all the facilities we needed. The gluten free cooked breakfast that I had was delicious. There was also an option of gluten free bread, which was good to know about, even tho I didn’t have it. The waiter was excellent; efficient and friendly, and keen to ensure that we were well looked after.

I would highly recommend this hotel in Chatteris. A lovely warm welcome on arrival, the owners and all the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean and tastefully decorated, a very comfortable bed with lovely bed linen and luxurious towels. Breakfast was excellent, always served with a smile. My stay for eight days at 'The Bramley House Hotel' couldn't have been better and great value for money.

A charming building with lots of character. Very quiet considering it’s in the middle of Chatteris. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A lovely breakfast with lots of choice. I had a single room which was compact and very clean. The en-suite was a good size and the shower was nice and hot. (I had a peak at the double rooms and they looked lovely).

I was working odd hours, the hotel managed to place me in an external room, which meant not disturbing guests when coming back in the early hours of the morning. The room was faultless, always kept tidy and clean by housekeeping. Breakfast was fantastic, recommend the full English included in the price. Will happily use this hotel again.

Beautiful hotel. With lots of history. All staff were friendly as were all the regulars at the bar. Evening meals were excellent value for money and well prepared as was breakfast. And didn't hear any noise from the bar or the road when laying in a beautiful 4 poster bed.

Large, commodious bedroom with good quality 'nibbles' and toiletries. The historic nature of the hotel was a constant delight and the owners deserve much credit for steering this hotel with such success through the darkest waters of the pandemic.

Since I have family who live in Chatteris, the location was great. It is right in the center of the village, so I could explore the shops very easily. I am gluten-free, and they had gluten-free bread for toast in the morning.
