The room was so dated it was like time travel back to the 1970s! Initially quite amusing and was a bit of nostalgic!

The room was comfortable and warm. The lady on reception was wonderful with us! We forgot to pack our toothpaste and she bought some for us and brought it to our room! The breakfast was great, there was a good choice and all of good quality, although we didn’t order anything cooked. The lady serving breakfast was lovely and friendly too.

The room was good value for money as the Poachers Barn was quite close to Scarborough and Filey where all the rooms were much more expensive. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The on site Bar was busy but evening food had to be ordered by 19.00pm. The mattress in our room was old and noisy and there was no on suite facility apart from a wash basin. The toilet and shower were down the hall and shared with another room. There was tea and coffee facilities with an electric kettle. We didn't eat at the Poachers Barn.

We went all around Scarborough, as we absolutely love it up there, I wish I could move up there to live. Whitby is a great place to visit, and the cream tea's are very scrumptious. We took are 15 week old cockapoo puppy with us, and we took him to the beach, which was his first time, and he loved every minute off it.
