It ticked all the boxes & then some, and we were overwhelmed by the whole experience, nothing was too much trouble for them, they delivered the bouquet to the table as we had dinner as I had previously arranged, and they even put the flowers in a vase & kept the box so we could transport them home. The meal was very good & well worth the money. Everything was at a high standard that we were suprised that it was only a 3 star. Thank you so much making our annerversary so special.

Open-plan and open-minded, Cambridge is best known for universities dating to the 13th century. King’s College is the most popular, and its chapel choir is internationally famous. Although accessed from cobbled King’s Parade, it is best viewed from a punt on The Backs, the part of the River Cam behind.
Taking a flat bottomed punt in Cambridge is an institution and gives great views of Queen’s College Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College. Upstream is Jesus Green, site of an outdoor pool and a fantastic beer festival. Next to this is Midsummer Common, a park home to the annual Strawberry Fair (and the occasional cow). Opposite are the college boathouses - get up early to see the rowers in action!
Cows also roam the Mill Pond meadow, where the river leads south to Grantchester, a quaint village with a lovely cafe. Places to eat in Cambridge include riverside restaurants and typical English pubs like The Eagle, drinking hole of DNA founders Watson & Crick.
Cambridge shopping options include a daily market (in Market Square), the Grafton Centre and the exclusive Grand Arcade, the latest addition. The Scott Polar Museum and free Fitzwilliam Museum are 2 of many fantastic Cambridge museums.
Stansted Airport is connected by train to the city’s accommodations choices on Booking.com.

Cambridge is a vibrant mixture of historic buldings and modern shopping. Watching drunken punters on the Cam was diverting, though none of them actually fell in to the river by some miracle.
We walked the length and breadth of the centre of the city and thoroughly enjoyed it. We used a multi storey car park next to Parker's Piece where there was plenty of space and which was not as expensive as we had expected. Wear comfortable shoes - we walked about 5 miles.
It is a city that exudes its self-confidence without being intimidating. Watch out for cyclists - they are everywhere in the city, with helmet users being a distinct minority.

Fine nature reserves (Wicken Fen, Fowlmere, Kingfishers Bridge) and pubs in the area (The Green Man, The White Hart, The Old Ferry Boat). Avoid parking in shopping malls - it would be cheaper to take a taxi!

Excellent CAMRA Beer Festival on Jesus Green ... and good pubs abound! Fantastic University Library and exhibition (Murder by the Book: A Celebration of 20th Century British Crime Fiction 23 March – 24 August 2024), and Tea Room; buses confusing and no system map; a handheld legible tourist map would be good (the one in the BID Summer in Cambridge booklet was illegible).

We loved Cambridge and the beautiful architecture and streets. We visited the David Attenburgh museum of zoology, so much to see and so interesting. Parked our car in the Grand Arcade which leads to the large shopping mall.
Plenty of places to eat around the old streets. It was raining so we didn’t go far on foot. Well worth a visit!

Beautiful area with amazing buildings!
Beautiful area with amazing buildings! Easy to walk everywhere. Lots of cafes to find something to eat, and this includes the market. Many green areas. Perhaps if a taxi is required, pre book it as mine did not arrive. Lots of lovely shops if you wish to go shopping, including ice cream shops.
Worth going on a punt tour as you learn so much and all questions are answered with detail. You get to see the other view of the colleges and various bridges that you cannot see due to colleges being closed to visitors as students are studying.
I had to come to Cambridge by car and this was a perfect location for me: I could leave the car there and get the 3 bus from outside the hotel straight to appointments in the city centre. (Better than Park and Ride!)
Staff very helpful: they lent me an HDMI cable so I could use the in-room TV as a second screen for a Zoom meeting.
Good, freshly cooked breakfast with vegetarian options, and the on-site Italian restaurant was perfect for a meal at the end of a long day.
The room was the best we have ever had during our travels. Exceptional surroundings , and breakfast was really good
. .Location was fine for us, as we could easily get into Cambridge High Street. This hotel has spoilt us for any other places, as it was exceptional. The views and the historical context of surroundings, make this an ideal visit, along with everything else.
Location was excellent for walking into Cambridge City centre. Room was spacious and comfortable and had a great vibe and as it was for a birthday treat we were served a complimentary gift in the room from the hotel! Comfortable bed and large en suite. Breakfast was perfect with lots of different options to choose from.
The hotel is extremely well located, literally just around the corner from the station, with very quiet rooms (we never heard any noise from the station). The city center is close by, around 20 minutes walk. There are some grocery stores and places to eat nearby too. Everything was clean and just like in the photos.
It was so good to get away and visit the beautiful city of Cambridge. We found the hotel through booking.com - it was 10-15 mins walk to the river and everything. Hotel was clean, friendly and the rooms were lovely! COVID restrictions were very well managed and the staff were excellent.... Great Breakfast too!
Helpful and friendly staff, lots of character, unbelievable a building this old still being used today as a Hotel. Room was comfortable and clean. Perfect location for visiting Duxford Air Museum, with decent pub and restaurant on site.
Would definitely recommend or stay again in future.
Everything! The hotel is a bit outside of the centre but it is easily reachable by walking, by bus or by taxi. There is a big supermarket and bars next door. The rooms are large and functional. The personnel is very kind. Incredible value for money compared to Cambridge city centre!
Well located for exploring Cambridge. Unfortunately I chose this hotel due to “parking” (rare in city centre) but none was available on arrival. The rooms (deluxe family) was large and comfortable. Good wide selection of breakfast.
Just a short ride from Cambridge city centre .Comfy bed ,good sized room .staff are really friendly and hard working .Free breakfast and free parking, great price for room . The staff in the hotel are a credit to the company.
The property was well equipped for our stay - and was very clean and comfortable. The art work in the property was really appropriate for a visit to Cambridge. And the lounge was very comfy. The host was also excellent.
The location is close enough to Cambridge to get on the park and ride (after a short 12m drive). There’s a food court next door and the hotel does food too. They accommodated my requests too despite being fully booked.
walking distance from the centre of Cambridge, no need for a taxi. Free parking on site, although it is limited so first come first served. Great value for a city centre hotel
The room was clean and spacious. I was impressed with the refrigerator, which is exceptional in UK hotels. The location is ideal (almost the city centre of Cambridge).
