Loved every second our stay at Maesmawr hotel from start to finish. Beautiful grounds, beautiful scenery. Lovely old building with lots of character and charm, but with great modern facilities inside. The rooms were absolutely impeccable. Clean, well equipped, very comfy beds, hot showers, great facilities. Amazing view from window of rolling hills and the sheep grazing in the fields. One of the most peaceful places I've been in my life. Staff were very friendly and relaxed. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Full English was great, plus orange juice, yoghurts, tea, coffee. Exceptional. Undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've stayed at in my life, and at amazing value for money. We travelled as a band playing at a wedding nearby, and it was a running topic of conversation just how lovely and peaceful the hotel was. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Staff friendly but due to location opposite a nightclub and the fact it’s an old building with very poor sound insulation not the place for a good sleep.

I stayed at Dolphor Inn as I was photographing a wedding at Plas Dinam (15 mins away) and I needed somewhere to stay the night before and night of the wedding. As a lone female traveller I'm very particular about where I stay and I couldn't have felt more safe. The staff were amazing, lovely people and couldn't do enough. There is a decent selection of wines at the bar, and the breakfast in the morning is so yummy.
Rooms are nice, modern, warm, clean and homely. Wifi is great too. Double plugs either side of the bed (loved this!) and a decent hair dryer in the draw. Would happily stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Top Tip: If you come out of the car park and turn left up the lanes there are the most amazing views! Perfect picture opportunities every where up there, it's the more scenic route to the main A road.

I can’t review this as my stay was a stop over on the way to Llanberis. I can say though that the mountains were not far away on my journey and the scenery changed dramatically very soon after leaving and it was stunning.

The main reason for my visit was to attend a wedding, I did not have the time to go sightseeing. However, I have visited here on numerous occasions in the past, and able to enjoy its tranquillity, and beautiful scenery.
Even though they were doing a bit of renovating it was perfect.
Shower was great, and nice that it was in our room. Breakfast was really nice, your choice from the menu and if you chose tea it came in an actual teapot. Bed was comfy and bonus was there was netflix on the t.v. Once we got the right wifi code that was great too.
We were in Caersws to see relatives and it was quite funny as they thought we were staying at the other unicorn down the road a few miles. I think we lucked out by booking this one.
The location was just off the beaten track, with good access to the beautiful Welsh countryside. A nice location to relax, with friendly helpful staff and good quality food. The hotel is set in beautiful established gardens and the weather was right for us to make the most of them. We will be going back to have another stay at Maesmawr Hall Hotel. Thanks Debbie and Paul
Really good breakfast and evening meal , as well as good beer and service. Hosts were very friendly.
Room was comfortable and well equipped . Everywhere was very clean . Parking was easy and the Unicorn hotel itself was easy to find. Caersws is a very pleasant village to stroll around with Roman history and a great view of the severn valley .
The location was fabulous, with beautiful grounds (inhabited by various wildlife) surrounding the hotel. Facilities were very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the food -the menu appeared at first glance to be unexciting! - but everything was beautifully cooked and presented, including breakfast.
I would have preferred a cooked breakfast. As the address was Caersws, I thought the roads to where I needed to travel each day would have been easier. I am sure for people who wanted to go walking the scenery and the area was beautiful . and the hosts were very pleasant.
We were looked after so well by Catherine (?). Our room was most comfortable with a little fridge with fresh milk for the tea and coffee, much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, as were the two evening meals we had at the hotel. We would certainly return.
Beautiful hotel set in divine grounds. Heaps of character. Budget rooms in the adjoining Coach House small but comfortable. Convenient location off the main road but far enough so that there is no road noise.
B&B means for me you don’t stay in an anonymous hotel but in the private settings of your host. In this case, it is an artist to the core within an extraordinary place where you can dive into arts all around
The hotel management were super friendly and very accommodating as we arrived just after check in time around 11.00pm.
Breakfast was really lovely.
The bed was really comfortable.
