My new favourite place after visiting to see a concert at the Opera House which I absolutely loved! So much to see and all within a short walk. Pavilion gardens, conservatory, art gallery and gift shop all together and not far from local eateries and shops. Also the famous Buxton warm water spring and spa are worth a visit including the very unusual tourist information office. Didn't get to see the folly on the hill 'Solomons Temple' but did explore the Peak District and it's incredible scenery including the Ladybower and adjoining reservoirs and Bakewell. So much more to see so will definitely be returning.

Buxton is a great place to visit with an amazing array of independent, interesting shops as well as the usual High Street regulars! The buildings are beautiful, historic and stylish and the countryside around is full of amazing views and loads of historic sites to visit, including Cromford Mill, Matlock and Chatsworth House, all of which are worth a visit. Apart from that there is Lathkill Dale and Ashford in the Water, most beautiful in early summer with the wild orchids in the dale and the well dressing in Ashford

The pavillion gardens are lovely, if you can arrange to see a show at the opera house, couldn't be better, with dinner at the St Moritz restaurant beforehand. A guided tour of the crescent is well worth it, tickets from the tourist information office opposite.

Our lodgings were facing the park, which is very pleasant to walk through, but take care of the goose droppings! The Opera house is a lovely building and there is something on every night, and the Dome nearby is interesting architecturally. The swimming pool is next to the park and Dome. The local area contains many restaurants and bars covering all tastes, e.g. Greek, Spanish, Thai, Italian, and tea rooms. We ate at the Greek and Thai restaurants, and the food was good, and the staff were charming at both places. Some of these places need booking ahead of time. There is also a long street containing individual and chain stores, with friendly staff. Car parking can easily be found.

The peak District it a beautiful place but they need to get a grip of prices in General £20 for a 40min,tour of a cave is a bit much really the town itself is going to price itself out it shows in the high street so many charity shops even in bakeries £3-50 for a pie also bar prices over the top but they will soon close

Guided tour of opera house good value for money , only £10 and lasted nearly 2 hours. Some nice pubs serving local beers. Shops a little run down with many closed down. Fantastic local pharmacy with many original features, well worth a visit. Many restaurants and coffee shops to try in town. Buxton easy walking only 5 minutes from hotel.

This accommodation impressed me when I first saw it! And when I arrived, I could say it really met or even exceeded my expectations. Gerard and Maggi are really really nice! They were always quite willing to help me. I was warmly welcomed and got wonderful tour information and suggestions from them. I love my pretty room on the top floor and the cleanest bathroom I've ever met. Also the compliments on the delicious breakfast. I would definitely choose this hotel when I travel to Buxton later.
