Cobblers Cottage, hotel in Burray Village

Offering a garden and garden view, Cobblers Cottage is set in St Margaret's Hope, 41 km from Standing Stones of Stenness and 43 km from Ring of Brogdar.

Cottage was brilliant. Clean, comfortable and the sun porch was great. My wife just wanted to spend our time out there. Would come back again and recommend to anyone. Just sorry we missed meeting Shevaun. She was busy and so were we with delays and problems with the ferry, but good communication.

Situated just 34 km from Maeshowe, VitaVer, B&B, STL-OR00012F features accommodation in Orkney with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen.

The location was very convenient and attractive, being on the sea-shore in a very pretty place. The accommodation was very spacious and generous, being the whole self-contained upper floor of a recently built house. The staff (Teresa and Malcolm) were very attentive and welcoming. The breakfasts were exactly to our preferences and promptly delivered each day.

Murray Arms Hotel and Seafood Restaurant, Orkney, hotel in Burray Village

Located in Saint Margarets Hope and with Maeshowe reachable within 40 km, Murray Arms Hotel and Seafood Restaurant, Orkney provides a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

The hotel and rstaurant were lovely, all the staff were very nice, freindly and welcoming. The hotel and restaurant were spotlessly clean. The bedrooms had good quality furniture, fixtures and fittings. They had original paintings on the walls by a loval artist. The menu was fantastic as were the meals. Good quality locally sourced seafood, vegetables and meat. The chef is very talented. I can't fault anything, very highly recommended. Can't wait to go back. Thank you everyone, John.

We have visited Orkney a number of times but have always been based around Stromness. It was nice to see another part of the island. The Sands Hotel is within easy walking distance and serves lunch and dinner.

Hotel was in a lovely location with sea view only a short drive from the ferry terminal small harbour area to front of hotel was nice but to the rear and side of hotel there was a boatbuilding repair yard and some sort of fish business other wasteland which was very untidy and not maintained which slightly spoiled the overall quality of hotel surroundings.

The village itself is quiet and agreeable without being spectacularly attractive: the hotel is at the core, in a water-front location, and supplies most of the excitement from a tourist point of view. But the location is generally a good one, within easy reach of Kirkwall and most of the Mainland sights in one direction and of South Ronaldsay in the other. The Italian chapel and the nice small town of St Margaret's Hope are both close. A good base for exploring the area.

very handy for Pentland firth ferry from GILLS BAY TO ST MARGARETS HOPE. only a ten minute drive to Kirkwall and thirty minutes to Stromness. Skara brae is about forty minutes away and you could drive around mainland in a hour and a quarter. Sands hotel in Burray had comfortable rooms and a great restaurant ,definitely look to book B&B as breakfast will set you up for rest of day. Bus stop at road end of village about 150 metres from hotel with buses going all around island ,dont be put off even if you dont drive.
