Great location for exploring the Dales. Great bar, beers/wines and a sunny outside seating area. Good food and wide and varied menu. All food looked freshly cooked from scratch with little evidence of a 'frozen-food' standard offering. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Staff were excellent and couldn't do enough.

Wharfedale is my favourite Dale and this is such a beautiful place to stay. The B&B has clearly had a whole lot of thought and care put into it. The room was perfect and the sitting room was a delight with a fab fire in the stove. Lynne cooked us the most fantastic breakfast, Clara the dog is a delight, and you're only a few seconds away from a village store and a pub. Wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.
Around 11 miles north of Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales, the Tennant Arms Hotel in Kilnsey offers well-appointed rooms and a cosy restaurant and bar.

The 2 ladies that seemed to carry out most of the public tasks were brilliant, always happy and smiling and willing to help when they were required. The evening meals were good and perfectly cooked and after returning to the bar we were able to get drinks and sit and relax until 10ish.
The breakfast was excellent, the 'full english' was huge and set us up for the day. However there was not much of a selection of cereal and no fruit or bread rolls etc as found in some hotels

Fantastic traditional Yorkshire Inn in an idyllic setting next to the River Wharfe.
Great beer, great food (especially the award winning pies made by the lovely Sarah) and a pub atmosphere that you will not find anywhere else, created by the ever-entertaining owner and landlord Ed. We shall be back!!!

Old cottage very close to Dalesway. Good heaters helped dry our boots and clothes.
Great breakfast and kindness from host.

Buckden is a beautiful village with plenty of walks to woodlands, waterfalls, the river, the ridge, and Buckden Pike - the view from the ridge, even on a rainy day, was stunning. The Buck Inn serves delicious meals (portions are massive) and has the friendliest staff. There is a village shop, but it's possibly seasonal as it was closed during my stay.

The White Lion is situated outside of the village. quite a walk for someone with arthritis, so we took the car but seasoned walkers wouldn't find it a long trek at all and the scenery is beautiful.

Set in a beautiful rural location I preferred to eat in because it was comfortable and friendly. My favourite place was Skipton where I enjoyed visiting the Castle, the market and the Trinity church for coffee. Also walking in the woods was good.

There are many great walks from the cottage.
There are many great walks from the cottage. There is a limited bus service but worth using if you don't want to use your own transport. For most of the year you have a local shop and a cosy cafe in the village and all year round there is the village pub. Other pubs also doing food are between 1-3 miles away.
If you wanted to use your own transport there are places like Hawes and Aysgarth to the north or Skipton and Pateley Bridge to the south.

Buckden is a beautiful village, typical to the Dales.
It has a great pub and shop and has many charming buildings.
Buckden's location is ideal for exploring the Wharfedale valley (upper and lower) and is the center of a number of circular walks.
