The Cock Hotel, hotel in Bronllys

Located in Bronllys, 44 km from Elan Valley, The Cock Hotel provides accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

Lovely room, clean and comfortable with a functional fire in the room. Check in was quick and easy and the owner/staff were lovely. Food was delicious, starter and mains were beautifully presented and much better than the expected ‘pub grub’ Let us have a later check out at no additional cost.

Sound of the River, hotel in Bronllys

Swn yr Afon offers accommodation in Talgarth. The property boasts views of the mountains is 48 km from Newport.

Immaculately clean and very well equipped. Access to a large, fully furnished garden area. This is the closest you will get to a 5 star hotel without actually booking into one. The fridge was stocked with charcuterie meats and pate. Cereals, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and fruit are provided as well as a chocolate treat. Robes and towels are provided as well as shower gel and hand soap. There are feather pillows on the bed and a lovely stream running behind the property. We booked late with little notice to the hosts who accommodated us beautifully. They are so very pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Despite our short visit, we enjoyed strolling along the Wye...

Despite our short visit, we enjoyed strolling along the Wye Valley footpath on the Saturday evening, climbed the Pen y fan, criss crossed bits of the Brecon Beacon National Park on foot and by car on Sunday and returned home on the Monday. Staying at Llangoed Hall was perfect, it was tranquil, secluded and quiet. You're surrounded by beautiful countryside and wander their lovely gardens.

The hotel is unique. The building is iconic and the rooms, furnishings and art work would be hard to better. There is ample parking and the gardens are lovely, including the maze and vegetable garden. Walks from there are superb, along the Wye and through amazing scenery. The staff are professional, and expert at what they do. Dinner at the hotel is exceptional. The chef is a marvel. The support for guests with special dietary requirements is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble.

The hotel is set in the most beautiful, peaceful valley bordering the Brecon Beacons. It it a fabulous country house with a wonderful collection of art. It is comfortable and luxurious but relaxed and welcoming. The staff were lovely and were doing their utmost to make your stay perfect. The rooms were tastefully decorated and beds were extremely comfortable . It was spotlessly clean .

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The location is spectacularly beautiful! The breakfast selections were varied from continental to cooked and there were choices at dinner which were all elegant. My husband enjoyed walking the grounds and the interior was filled with paintings and interesting artifacts. It was a pleasant hotel in the countryside!

Beautiful location. Great house. Great room. Hotel seemed almost empty so lacked some atmosphere. Skeleton staff in evening meant we had to go searching for reception, drink, etc. Those we found were lovely. Garden not as manicured as we expected. Feel you maybe are missing a trick; but not put finger on why. We v much enjoyed our stay though.
