Great location—very close to the ferry and the main shops in Brodick but a bit removed from it all. Felt very safe. Breakfast was pretty good and had various choices. Overall my room was pretty quiet. WiFi worked great. Significantly less expensive than a lot of other options on Arran.

The location was ideal for being able to experience all of Arran but also finding some peace and quiet. The little stream was loved by our dog and made sitting out on the decking all the more peaceful. Its a compact but very well thought out space. Hosts were super friendly & very helpful.
Beautiful isle with very friendly local people. We visited in January which is considered an off-season, so some bars and attractions were temporarily closed. However, we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed many peaceful walks nearby with breath-taking scenes!
Welcoming , comfortable, clean accommodation.Location near amenities and town centre.Great food.Very beautiful scenery and wildlife.Quiet and peaceful but plenty to do if you want it.So many beaches that one is more beautiful than another.Arran definitely is Scotland in miniature and The Old Dairy is a wee hidden gem and has a charm of it's own

We've stayed in Brodick a few times and love the proximity of everything - beaches, woodland walks, Brodick Castle, restaurants, bars, Arran Cheese, the Brewery, Arran Botanicals, the Heritage Museum, Arran Aromatics, Wooleys Bakery, just to name a few.
For food the Douglas Hotel, Ormidale and Auchrannie are good as is the Brodick bar.
The Fisherman's walk is a gentle walk along the front and the beautiful beach with shallow water. Great for families.
Pretty much everything is within walking distance.

Brodick is the main commercial and transportation centre for the Isle of Arran. It is a small place with very limited basic services, and nothing much to see or do in itself apart from the Castle and the Arran Heritage Museum.
The shops were disappointing and there were only two decent restaurants in the central part of the town (I gather the Auchrannie Resort and Spa was good too but did not have a chance to go there as it is rather out of the way if you don't have a car). The best restaurant by far was the Brodick Brasserie - fine dining on Arran!
The best thing about the town is its setting on a wide bay with mountains to the north.

Brodick is no more than a charming seaside village but has a promenade and some entertainments such as crazy golf. Brodick Castle and the Arran Heritage Museum are definite must visit attractions.
The 323 bus to Whiting Bay and the south end of the island is recommended. Blackwaterfoot is also worth a bus ride. Motorists should be wary of the western side of the island where the only roads do not have "A" designation.

We picked up filled rolls and cakes at Wooleys bakery most days and they were excellent - nearly opposite the smaller Co-op store. We had a couple of tasty meals at The Douglas Hotel - worth booking ahead to get the time you want. Arran ice cream is excellent and is sold in various places. There are plenty of seats along the main road where you can sit to eat your cone and parking is easy and free here too. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and there were plenty of staff serving in the cafes and shops.
We liked the airy room with the beautiful bay views from three windows. The easy check in and check out Covid arrangements. Bed linen was lovely and towels were of good quality. We liked the idea of continental breakfast in our bedroom at a table by previous mentioned window with a view! Breakfast cereal selected for us was unfortunately not to our taste, the prepackaged croissant was lacking that crispy fresh taste and I missed butter. The selection of cheeses, however, were delicious!
We stayed 2 night, years since we did B n B as normally large group and rent a house The property was clean, a bit dated ( we’re not posh so didn’t care) , extremely handy for ferry and buses. Breakfast was made fresh and is ideal as everywhere on Arran is expensive to eat out. Shower had excellent pressure and soap, shampoo provided. Mitch was a very pleasant host
We loved our stay at the Shorehouse. The location and the view were amazing, and we felt it was great value for the price we paid - especially for self catering! The Shorehouse is definitely a little quirky and in some places is a little tired around the edges, but we loved our stay here and would definitely come back.
Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Great view from our room overlooking Brodick bay. A 2 minute walk to the beach and bars/restaurants plus only 5 minutes from the ferry. Ample parking for those with a car.
All in a brilliant stay and would definitely return again.

Our room had a fantastic view on the bay, we spend a lot of time just sitting by the window enjoying the view. The room was spacious, with an en suite bathroom as big as our entire hotel room in London. Great service from the friendly staff.
Mitch was a friendly host who made recommendations that helped us make the most of our stay on Arran. The guesthouse is in the ideal location to access all the island has to offer, and has great views. Would recommend!
Best parts of the property are it’s got a well stocked kitchen and massive drying room, essential for the Arran weather/outdoor activities.
Bed was comfy and room was warm.
Showers are excellent. Great location.
Everything! We had an amazing week, Arran was already awesome to us, but west knowe cottage was the icing on the cake so comfortable and genuinely felt like home. Will definitely be back!
Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens & outside areas. Lots of leisure facilities. Room was very comfortable, a good size and relaxing. Ate in the tapas restaurant and it was very good.
Loved the lounge with comfy sofas and an open fire. Liked the room. Comfortable bed. Excellent shower. Delightful toiletries by Arran Aromatics. Nice restaurant.
