A beautiful period house decorated in keeping with its age and full of interest. Our room was well appointed, dinky but we expected that. It was lovely, clean and warm.
The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast offering was excellent, a good choice of fruit, cereal, hot drinks etc and the cooked breakfast menu was extensive and catered for all tastes. The vegetarian option was first class. Located a 5 minute walk into the main town we found this perfect, close to restaurants, coffee shops etc but away from the hustle and bustle. A bus stop was just opposite the hotel if you didn’t want to use the car for exploring. The hotel had a handy car park for guest use and the pretty garden was a quiet haven for relaxing with a bar facility. There was also a communal guest lounge for guests to use.All in all the Bridge House was the perfect choice for us.

Charlie and Lucy were very friendly and hospitable and made us feel at home right away. The rooms were well appointed, clean and comfortable and the views from the farmhouse were fabulous. The breakfasts were made, where possible, with fresh produce from the farm and beautifully cooked. A real home away from home.

There is so much to do in Bridport.
There is so much to do in Bridport. There are many pubs and restaurants and events. There is even a street market twice a week and a good variety of shops. Everything is within walking distance or you can take a bus. The beach is less than 2 miles away. Lots of hotels. Many charity shops. Very safe and friendly with narrow streets and oldie worldly charm and architecture. Good night life with theatre and music events to attract all ages. Good surrounding countryside for walks and pub meals. There is even a guided walk round the brewery.

There are so many places of interest both in and around Bridport. In the town itself there are plenty of places to both eat and drink. The buses take you to most of the surrounding places both big and small. But there are also very reasonable taxi services. Walking around Bridport is a joy as there are so many things to see and it has an interesting history. I can't think of any places I'd avoid.

Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport.
Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport. West Bay offers several choices of restaurant each offering local sea food. With its picturesque harbour there is plenty to see and do. From deep sea fishing trips to catching crabs or small fish around the harbour and pier. The cliff walks are spectacular as are the walks along the coastal paths. There are swimming pools in and around West Bay along with squash, badminton, tennis and table tennis facilities.

Great choice of pubs and restaurants in town, any staff I encountered were excellent. There’s a cinema, museum and plenty of independent shops for wet days. Decent bus service too to other places including Weymouth, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Axminster.

Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people.
Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people. We like micro-brewery beer and there is a nice brewery in Bridport that gives great tours. We really wanted to visit West Bay and that was close and very nice. The whole area is very scenic.
This is a charming hotel that has been in operation in some form for centuries. It feels like an old carriage house with creaky stairs and some lower ceilings, but has a lovely dining room and pretty rooms. We had two: one in the main house and one in an outbuilding. Both were nicely decorated and comfortable with the suite in the garden being extra special. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast and the staff was adorable. We also enjoyed a street market in Bridport and found it a perfect place to access the Jurassic Coast.
Fantastic site, staff were helpful and friendly , brilliant as a base for a break away , dog friendly and will definitely book again , nice little gardens for the dogs to play in and very secure. Would recommend the local pub about a 3 min walk up the road nice home cooked meals and very welcoming, The beach is dog friendly too and about a 10 min walk away with a nice little coffee / cake shop en- route . The coastal path will take you into west bay approx 1 mile walk with brilliant views..
It’s like one of those cute little inns you read about or see in the movies. My partner and I were the youngest people staying there which was kinda funny. But it was so lovely there, and comfortable. All the staff were extremely friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfasts were all great and I do wish we could’ve had it on our last day but our train was early in the morning.
I will definitely stay at this place again if we do go back to Dorset!!
Almost central location, easy 5 minute walk of central Bridport. Incredible peace and quiet for such a central location, sometimes, just birds tweeting and nothing else. Great feel to this cottage, wonderful tasteful decor with period touches, one eye to the current, and a nod to the past. Would have loved to be there on colder days with a log burner providing additional ambience- maybe another day. I would return.
We loved the decor of the house. The conservatory and garden were lovely at night with the outdoor lighting. The location is great, very quiet little neighbourhood only 5 minutes walk from a SPAR and 10 minutes walk from West Bay. Upon arrival we were left lots of goodies and essentials to keep us going until we could get to a supermarket - and some treats were left for our dog which was greatly appreciated by her!
Adorable setting , very nice establishment in a great area to explore. quick walk to the beach although the weather was a bit blustery when we were there. but the drives in the area (recommended by the manager, Abbotsbury, adorable, do it!) are amazing. food at the hotel was really well appointed and tasty! delicious breakfast!! staff was extremely accommodating and friendly.
The whole experience was wonderful. The hotel is right in the centre of Bridport so we only had to walk to shops and pubs, and the car park at the rear is really handy. Our room was excellent with a large slipper bath, and the most comfortable four poster bed you could wish for. All the staff were brilliant and we were well looked after by a superb host manager, Jack.
The room was cosy and comfortable (especially the bed), the breakfast options were great and tasty, and the host was welcoming and had lots of local recommendations! The property itself is in a great location for driving to lots of Dorset highlights, and walking down to West Bay is also possible. There is nothing to complain about - we had a lovely stay!
Beds really comfy. Room quiet although over main street. Room very clean. Staff very pleasant despite being really busy.
Great location for wandering around Bridport. Possible to park close to hotel on the street between 5pm and 9am for free. Car park further down street for parking in day-time (charges apply).
You can eat and drink on site.
Eype's Mouth Country Hotel is a charming gem near West Bay and just 40 mins drive for beautiful Durdle Door. From the warm hospitality to the comfortable rooms and unforgettable dining experience with a view of the sea, it exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.
Great property, right on the beach. Lovely quiet site with only a handful of other properties. Spacious rooms and enough storage for a family of 4. In the small village of Eype but only 10 minutes from Bridport or West Bay.
Hotel staff & potting shed (outdoor bar) staff were so lovely & kind.
Breakfast was excellent
Hotel is really nice & rooms are lovely.
Location is excellent! Would highly recommend & would definitely go back
Super little hotel in a really great location. Comfy bedrooms and super bathrooms. Excellent dinner in restaurant and very tasty breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
