Angela was a very hospitalbe, welcoming and helpful host. She gave us great tips for places to visit and things to do. Her cooked breakfast was delicious, and there was additionally a great variation of cereals, yoghurts, and fruit. The room and bathroom were cosy and clean, and we instantly felt at home. Welcoming and helpful-we arrived in our motorhome.Warm cosy thatched inn. Beautiful furniture in our large room. Excellent meal in the dining room -my husband loved the baked celeriac with broccoli and tiny carrots. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the Granite way for cycling and railway history. I imagine Bearslake is really busy in summer -great for an out of season break!

Bridestowe is a peaceful and scenic location not far from the town of Okehampton. It was ideal base for cycling in and around Dartmoor and was only 10 miles from Tavistock which is a very pleasant town to visit. There were several good restaurants around the area which were easily accessible by car. I would recommend this area for a relaxing break.

This would have been a 10/10 but 3 of us attempted a shower and every time it was cold. Also, when we booked online there was no mention anywhere that the restaurant (which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel) would be closed the day we went. However, the lady was lovely, room was great and was clean. Just a pity about the cold shower. Would definitely come back so long as the showers were a bit warmer 😉

Ample breakfast in a hamper. Evening meal was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Unforeseen circumstances meant the room we booked was unavailable and we were transfered to their self catering property attached to the hotel. Nothing was too much for the staff who helped and served with a smile.

The location is fantastic with a small stream bubbling through the open areas. The building is beautiful with thatched roof, exposed beams and masses of "old world" charm. Check in was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast basket was novel and a great change to the regular soggy hotplates you normally get in a hotel stay.
