I arrived after a very long drive and felt welcomed by the attentive and cheerful staff.
The room was perfect, clean, comfortable and with a good shower.
I enjoyed a delicious meal with a splendid punt of Butcombe Original, before falling into a refreshing sleep.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent, I had the Eggs Royale, with tea, toast and marmalade. The full English looked tempting but I'll save that for another day!
Bear of Burton has unique, individually designed bedrooms and a popular local restaurant. Christchurch is just 5 minutes’ drive away.

The room was their cheapest option, but comes with things you would expect for a luxury option. Slippers and dressing gowns, coffee pod machine with pods and coffee bags. A fridge with bottle of tap water and real milk not uht. Nice furniture and themed bear rooms. Large towels. His and hers sink. Waterfall shower separate to bath. Dark blackout curtains. You also get a free gin and tonic voucher for each person in the room which is nice touch. Hot Breakfast options really good and look and taste great. Cold options available also nice but bowls for cereal a tad on the small size. Free juice and coffee also offered within the price for breakfast. Free parking and nice indoor and outdoor seating areas

I loved the Elstead Hotel! It is a great, traditional British seaside hotel with friendly staff, a huge and well-appointed room (214) and a tasty breakfast. The room had a fridge, a sofa, a table and chairs, a desk and a large wardrobe. The bathroom was dated but really good quality and clean. The hospitality tray had decaf coffee and little tea pots. There was an iron and board as well as the ubiquitous trouser press. With a kitchenette, the room would have been a studio flat to live in! And the big, fluffy towels were a touch of luxury. Breakfast was just right, in my view. There were limited options but this meant what there was, was done very well, with no faff. The cooked breakfast was tasty and the cereal choice was extensive.

Absolutely loved every second of our stay. Wonderful location, great food and the staff are just brilliant. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door, nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly and helpful. Huge thanks to everyone for making our stay so special. We will be back. Gill & Ian.
