The hotel is just off junction 64 of the A1(M), less than 12 miles from Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham. It has free parking, a restaurant, a lounge bar and air-conditioned rooms.

The hotel is well kept, the rooms are spacious and the staff is quite attentive. The rooms are air-conditioned and despite being relatively close to motorway, one can't hear the traffic. I'm so pleased that I booked this hotel.

A great place to stay if you want to visit Beamish Museum, which as we found can take a couple of days to explore fully. 20 minutes drive to Durham. Only a few minutes to Angel of the North. We cooked for ourselves, but did use an excellent local chippy one evening. Several fast food outlets there.
Town centre within easy walking distance. A big Morrisons store.

very clean and spacious. It was cold in the morning and we didn't want to turn the boiler on with no instructions although it was just a standard boiler.
Only issues was no bread to go with the butter and jam
