We did not eat locally, tending to cook for ourselves or, if travelling further afield finding somewhere nearby. Plenty of supermarkets locally to choose from. Buxton, especially the Pavilion Gardens, and Bakewell are well worth visiting. Locally Mow Cop is a must. We appreciated the floral displays in towns such as Congleton and were impressed by the lack of litter. Shame about the potholes everywhere!

Everything was excellent from our first to last day.

Everything was excellent from our first to last day. A good position to visit so many fantastic places from here and the scenery was outstanding. Weather was excellent during our stay. Hopefully we can get there again some time. Will be highly recommending to our family and friends. There are lots of good pubs to eat in and we never had any difficulty in finding one wherever we travelled. Some journeys included narrow roads so had to be doubly attentive of oncoming cars. Only travelled by car but noticed plenty of public transport available. Something for everyone with any interests can be found in the surrounding area. Good for cyclists.
