Narrow windy Devon roads mean that getting to and from Torcross from the Devon Expressway is not quick, but once you are there it is lovely. There is a pub, cafe and a short walk from the flat gets you to well-stocked shop which also has a cafe. Great location for walking, or just being.

Lovely, quiet spot, with a lake/nature reserve on one side of the road and the long, pebble beach on the other. A handy cafe, pub and fish shop along the strip, and half a mile away a great well stocked farm shop. The location is ideal for short to long very scenic coastal walks, and for day trips out to Salcombe, Kingsbridge & Dartmouth. Great sister pubs in nearby Beesands and Stokenham (The Cricket Inn and Church House In).

There weren’t any local convenience shops so take milk, bread, tea, coffee, loo rolls with you as farm shop up the road is very pricey. The Billy Can is just opposite and great for baco.n butties and homemade cakes. Also Start Bay Inn for fish and chips. Get in the car for a great meal at Cricket Inn in Beesands. Good coastal walks around - very scenic

For a start we were staying in Torcross, Beesands is a village over the cliff!! Torcross is very pleasant, good walks decent pub with food, nice cafe and another small restaurant. Only down side is there is no village shop and the nearest decent shopping place is Dartmouth which has all the usual supermarkets and plenty places to eat and drink. Well worth a visit, there is a steam train to Painton, very good. Plus the surrounding area has a lot of history. Beach at Totcriss is shingle and stone, youneedto be a decent swimmer as beach drops off quite steeply. Altogether a nice place to stay.
