Welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The member of staff who greeted us showed us directly to the room which was a nice touch.
Lovely furnishings with a huge and superbly comfortable bed. Shower was amazing with great water pressure.
Nice breakfast with good options and an attentive but still relaxed host.
Bonus that there is a separate door to come and go from. Next time we will go down to the bar and try the pizza.
On street parking but we found a space. There is a wee shop and chemist nearby. Easy travelling distance to Hexham and to Hadrian’s Wall.

Everything was excellent apart from the very hard sofa - a shock when you sit down on it!

We stayed in July for the annual Mayfair and had an excellent time with lots to do and various entertainment. Its a beautiful little place but not a lot to do if you're looking for exciting activities. Lots of local hikes etc but certainly not a one stop entertainment shop!

Allendale is quiet but has a few pubs and shops. We enjoyed visiting Hexham Abbey which is not far away and had a super day at Hadrian’s Wall at Housesteads. Northumberland itself is beautiful - very peaceful. There is no problem parking at Allendale either!

The room was very comfortable and our huge bed was made for great sleeping. Although I hurt myself while in the room, the staff was so accommodating. The dinners were wonderful, the wait staff was wonderful, the chef superb. Everything was done to ensure our stay was a success and most enjoyed by us both. Here's to you.
What would I avoid on my next visit? The chest of drawers in room 19. Ouch (to close to the bed for me, my toes and my knee).

A very special hotel in a glorious bit of Northumberland.
A very special hotel in a glorious bit of Northumberland.
We were in accommodation down from the castle with lovely short walks across to the castle. Large rooms with good facilities, giant bed, an iron and ironing board, a shower and a bath, lighting on central switch, a sofa and chairs.
It was fabulous.

Allendale town is a great place to stay.Lots of stupendous walks around the town or cycle routes if you're a cyclist. there is a well equipped local cooperative store and a lovely tea room/cafe/gallery. The church is welcoming and inclusive .There are several pubs which serve good food. There is also a bunk house for group holidays and plenty of other places to stay. A good area to be based to visit lots of historical sites such as the forts along Hadrian's Wall
Langley Castle is perfectly situated for Hadrian's Wall, Hexham and the wonderful Northumberland countryside. This is a genuine medieval castle, beautifully restored and furnished. Our room, in what was once probably stables, was exceptionally spacious with a large ensuite sitting area. The reception rooms, including the bar and restaurant, are in the medieval part, and are full of atmosphere. The evening meal was excellent, in spite of a few Covid restrictions. All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel too highly.
We were greeted by Liz, the most welcoming and friendly host you could ever wish to meet. The coffee and scones were most appreciated after our ride down from Scotland.
All of the rooms were impeccably clean, and the antique furniture throughout is the epitome of style and taste.
The breakfast was delicious and made from local ingredients of the highest quality.
I can say with all honesty that the Hotspur House has now become the benchmark that I compare all other accommodations to.
This place is absolutely amazing!
We were there with a 2yo but I highly recommend it for a romantic getaway😍 Grounds are nice, castle beautiful, room very stylish, staff amazing, restaurant very good etc etc. Hexham is just a short drive away and so are some nice tourist attractions.
Only sad thing abt the whole experience was leaving the hotel🤗
I have wanted to visit Langley Castle Hotel for many years, having seen it briefly from the road on a previous trip to the area.
The castle is everything I had hoped it would be and more. The main evening menu looked to be expensive at first but the food was exceptionally good - worth every penny.
Front of house staff welcoming and obviously really proud of the hotel which is so atmospheric and historic.
Great room and bathroom, beautiful surroundings and grounds.
Ate in restaurant and had the best Eton Mess desert ever!
A superb small hotel in the centre of Allendale Town. Everything was beautifully presented to an exceptional standard, with attention to detail outstanding in all areas. Breakfast delicious. Liz a warm and welcoming host.
Beautiful grounds, delicious dinner. Peacocks on grounds by annex.
Very nice stay in hotel. Did castle tour in the morning also which was informative and very nice.
Stayed with family, everyone enjoyed their stay.
Lovely hotel, our room very clean and pleasant, dinner very nice, sadly we had to miss breakfast. All the staff we encountered were excellent. Will certainly stay here again.
Everything! This hotel is beautiful and now my favourite place to stay. Spotless, staff are amazing, food is spectacular.
Just need to get some Tia Maria in please 😊
Really quality independent hotel in a fantastic setting. Staff are really attentive and create a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant served high standard cuisine.
I loved that the castle had be restored with attention to period-appropriate style and detail…but affording modern luxuries one would expect in a hotel today.
Excellent stay. Liz was very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was exceptional. Wonderful breakfast. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast
