The pub is located in a wonderful setting, with mountain views, if the weather allows it. Dinner was very good, as was the beer at the bar. The staff all looked after us very well. The juliet balcony in the room was a nice touch.

Abergavenny itself has a range of shops including independents and good restaurants. It has a station, which is a bonus! And is a good centre for walking. There are several good walks that you can do from Abergavenny itself and more are accessible by car and train. There is also a theatre (and a small cinema) so check out the programmes. There are lovely restaurants and independent coffee shops.

Abergavenny is a great little town with a lively market, good food and historic interest. Don't miss the museum in the Tithe Barn (the town tapestry is amazing), and if you are an art lover, the Priory Church is a must-see for its spectacular set of medieval carvings in wood and stone.

Absolutely stunning.
Absolutely stunning. Outstanding hosts, warm and friendly offering us tips on hiking trails and even lent us a spare backpack to take on our hikes when we forgot ours. Couldn’t do more for us, they were great. Beautiful location the barn is well equipped with everything you need. We stayed in the top bedroom on night 1 which was lovely and quiet, but might be a little too low and tight for bigger guests. We loved it. Definitely will return. Thanks both xx

Very interesting mining history of the town.
Very interesting mining history of the town. Nearby Mining exhibition Big Pit and the museum in Bleanavon is highly recommended. As well as the Iron works exhibition. Ideally located to drive to Cardiff, Coch and Cearphilly Castle and Caerleon.

It's a beautiful area of the country, many rural churches to visit, as well as Dore Abbey and Llanthony Priory. St Mary's in Abergavenny has an extraordinary 15thC sculpture of Jesse under the tree of life, carved from one oak trunk. Lots of amazing walks too.

Lovely quirky touches all around the cottage.
Spotlessly clean and really comfortable.
Easy walking distance from wonderful town centre loads of cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops ( 5 mins or maybe even less)
A lovely, clean and welcoming hotel. The standards of decor and cleanliness were excellent. Nice little bar area serving until 9pm plus a small lounge (neither used). The hotel definitely has a four star feel, although there is no fridge in the room and water was not provided.
The continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful with self-service and a good coffee machine. Staff were available to assist if required.
A great location just outside Abergavenny. Ideal for walking or visiting attractions in the area.
