when returning to area, i would probably not stay in Vallorcine, but in either Chamonix (where all the action is) or even Argentière which has excellent Le Fournil Chamoniard Patisserie (come early, by noon all the great stuff is finished) and grocery store .
I found we had to drive out of Vallorcine for everything
The apartment is really great with a good view if they gave you a room that faces the river overthere. It will be a superb stay if you really love nature and love being far away from the city. The apartment is in a place called Valocrine “ 20 Minutes away from the center of chamonix “ hence, if you are planning to stay away from the busy city it would be really nice to book this apartment. But, if you are really planning to spend some time in chamonix then I would say no because the road is a bit dangerous at night !
The guest house is situated in the beautiful valley of Vallorcine, close by Chamonix. The nature is very beautiful, with hiking trails starting right by the guest house.
From the start it was a warm welcome by the son of the host. We immediately felt at home away from home. When asking for tips (eating, hiking, etc) Helen would always come up with a perfect plan. Not to mention the absolutely stunning breakfast, what a treat.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay to the fullest and can’t wait to come back!
The location was very convenient for the telecabine ski lift and for the Mont Blanc Express train station. This three-bedroom apartment was spacious enough for two adult couples, and the standard of cleanliness was good. We liked the baths in two of the bedrooms - unusual to get two in apartments like this. The apartment was very warm and quiet. The common areas of the building were clean, and the reception staff were very helpful.
Apartament in Vallorcine is very good, clean and cozy We liked it very much. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathroms were upstaires what was a good solution. Kitchen is equipped very well, there was everything we needed. The host was very nice. We didn't have any problems with the keys. Apartament is located very close to the ski lift. Near beautiful mountains. We would definitelly come here again.
Good apartment for shorter or longer stay. Close to several walking trails. Great view. There are some places to eat nearby but the opening hours & days not very clear. One small grocery close to hotel. Better to come prepared with all food you will need. Kitchen well equipped. We liked the swimming pool and sauna.
Helen is so hospitable and has created such a warm, cozy, and pleasant home to share with her guests. My room was spotless, so comfortable, and the location is great - close to the train station and Vallorcine ski lift + ski shop.
It's a perfect place, with a perfect location to walk, to ski, to make trips to Chamonix, Mont Blanc or Mer de Glace. There's every comodity you can think of. Also the owner was very nice and helpful. We'll definitely be back.
