Tarare is a small town, but with beautiful small shops stores and many options for tours, I loved shopping at the Auchan supermarket, on a walking tour, I found great products for my cuisine and excellent prices. People are kind and everything is very clean in the city.

Perfect location for an overnight stay just off the main toll road. Only downside is the restaurant was not open on Sunday night, we have stayed previously and know the restaurant is very good so we were sorry we could not eat there again

We stayed at the Manoir on our way to the South of France.
We stayed at the Manoir on our way to the South of France. We wanted to avoid the big city experience at Lyon and this proved to be a charming diversion. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The Manoir itself fascinating and well restored. We had a room with a balcony looking over the extensive grounds. The hosts made excellent recommendations for where to go for dinner and we had a unique night out.
Great experience. The old but beautifully renovated and decorated manoir is impressive. The fairytale garden with pond, ducks and peacocks makes you feel like you have stepped back a century. The owner was very hospitable and it was really nice to chat with him over an offered aperitif with all the other guests (max 5 rooms).
Don't expect the standard luxury - but impersonal - hotel, but a unique experience of charm and nostalgia.
The host is very pleasant and he kindly booked a restaurant in Tarare for me as I was arriving late so as to make sure I could still have some dinner. The breakfast the next morning was really good with some home-made jams and a good conversation about the history of "Le Manoir", its previous owners and its surroundings.
We just in transit but the hotel was well above our expectations. It is just off A89 and easy to find. Although the restaurant was closed for Sunday night we were offered chance for a pizza delivery or directed to one near by.
Perfect location on the outskirts of Tarare close to town. Peaceful house up on the hill surrounded by beautiful gardens. Easy to get to by car and parking available on site. Nice healthy breakfast prepared by the owner.
Comfortable modern hotel on edge of Tarare town - surprised to find hotel near full on a Tuesday night, location close to Lyon may be reason. Charming staff. Excellent dinner, reasonably priced for the quality.
