Hotel Le Moulin du Château, hotel in Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon

Le Moulin Du Château is a former olive oil mill, located in Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon, Provence. It offers rooms with satellite TV and free Wi-Fi.

We loved the country feel and the location of this family run boutique hotel. The host welcomed us warmly and offered us to join for a 3 course dinner which was absolutely superb. It's all organic food and prepared with attention to detail. We also ordered the organic breakfast in the morning which we enjoyed in the garden. The food was absolutely delicious !! We are sad that we were only able to stay for 1 night which was definitely too short. There are plenty of things to do in this area.

auberge du castellas, hotel in Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon

Located in Sainte-Croix-de-Verdon, 45 km from Digne Golf Course, auberge du castellas provides accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The property is located on a hill with an overlook of the Lake Sainte Croix in Gorge de Verdon. It has a beautiful view of the lake from it's restaurant, it's swimming pools and some of its rooms. We emailed the property manager directly and specifically requested a room with a view of the lake which was honored. The atmosphere is very homy since it's owner operated. When we asked for recommendations of the areas to visit, the property owner gave us a package made of area maps. some postcards and pamphlets and he explained which areas to visit first. The restaurant staff was very friendly and accomodating. We asked for the breakfast plan and the breakfast provided for a mere 12 euros was amazing. It was a feast that kept us full for the whole day. The room is not very luxury but it was well decorated, clean and has the south of France charm. And the property swimming pool, although of a small size, it was enough to relax in it and it has a nice lounge area where we could have drinks after a day of hiking and sightseeing. We liked everything about this hotel but most of all it was the view of the lake that was most captivating and relaxing. If we come back to this area we will definitely want to stay at this hotel again.

This is a charming town that warrants an after-dark stroll through the tiny paths. We ate at the "pizzeria" - the only restaurant in town - with a lot more to offer than just delicious pizza. If you can't entertain yourself with beautiful scenery and magical days in nature and among relaxed and interesting people, then don't bother. This area is one of the natural wonders of the world. Forget your computer, bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to be astonished by the beauty.

The owners/staff were fantastically helpful, kind and multilingual. This eco-friendly, converted olive mill, next to a chateau is like staying at a retreat - and yet locally you could do any number of active things eg. water sports at the lake, cycling etc. We did a wonderful walk along the Verdon Gorge straight from the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were superbly cooked.

Super atmospheric & quirky family run hotel in the old olive mill. Fantastic set evening meal. Always worth having. Only didn’t serve on Thursday evenings. Listen to owners suggestions on what and how to visit the gorges. Don’t just drive round the upper side try the basses gorges walk ( or boat hire) from Quinton too just as spectacular.
