The whole accommodation is furnished in a distinct artistic way (good taste 👌) but also cozy and welcoming. All the appliances are working and well maintained. The breakfast is rich, everything is fresh and served with a whole lot of love. The host lady was totally nice and helpful in everything. We had a peaceful view on the garden and the neighborhood from our window. Also the garden is nicely decorated 😍 as well as the little terrace in front of the house, where we could spend hours reading and relaxing. Btw, the hosts provide big bowl with fruit in the breakfast room 🤩

This beautiful castle set in the heart of a 25-acre park blends the pleasures of a Renaissance château with the comfort of a boutique hotel and was once a hideaway for Henry IV.

The atmosphere of calm and welcome was obvious from the first greeting. The house is charming it has everything needed equipment wise in the kitchen. A large garden for the dog to play in with marly, their dog. An optional breakfast was excellent value for the money, fresh eggs from their hens. Free WiFi was a bonus and the TV. Beautiful surroundings to walk in.

Saint-Germain-du-Corbéis is a short walk (15 to 20 mins) from the larger town of Alençon, the birthplace and childhood home of Saint Thérèse. Guided tours by nuns and volunteers are available (payment by donation), which really brings to life the life and times of Saint Thérèse and her family.
Alençon is home to many historic building, including Le Château des Ducs, although this is not open to the public (although it was open by prior arrangement weekend of 21/22 September 2024 as part of the wider French equivalence of the UK Heritage Weekend).
Alençon is also the (former) centre of the lace trade and has a small museum dedicated to the craft, which is worth a visit.
