We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly and down-to-earth manager, not in the least formal or "corporate". The hotel restaurant in the garden terrace was a superb setting, and the food and the service were both very good. Breakfast was also a good variety of fruit, cereals and pastries.
Hotel Saint Jacques is set in Vals-les-Bains, just 3 km from Aubenas Castle. It offers direct access to the casino's park, where there is a swimming pool, cinema and mini golf course.
