We stayed in Nyons for a week.. but we were not "exploring" Nyons. We decided the town based on the MTB riding in the area (4seasonsbikepark) and then explored the area close to Nyons in all cotes du rhone.. Nyons is really cozy but can feel dead during the week and of course in 1-2 days you saw it all..mostly all.. but you are at 1.15h drive from Nimes, Avignon, Orange, Montelimar (really close), Valence.. cheers tasting all the fantastic secret domaines around !

Great village to visit and the cave co operative us a great deal for some some nice wines and treats including cakes, olives and skin care. Also the lavender distillery has some lovely oils and soaps. Had some lovely pastries and cakes from a little shop by the cave.

A fantastic place to visit with many great little finds. From fantastic food in the many restaurants. Walks by the river with the dog very refreshing. Great old town to explore with many great views to soak up no matter the weather. The market is great to visit as it has got lots of variety and is huge you can take the whole day meandering the streets. The cave cooperative has some delicious food, wine and cosmetics to buy and test. Also the lavender distillery is charming and very relaxing.

Nyons is an ancient town — a Greek trading post before the Romans arrived. Some of the Roman presence is still evident, as it is for many towns in that region. It is an easy drive from Nyons to many Rhone vineyards, and the backroad drives themselves are spectacular, with stunning topography, fields of lavender, and many picturesque towns.

Famous for its black olives Nyons has a river, a wonderful Roman bridge, an intriguing vielle ville and a Renaissance marketplace with an ancient shady arcade where you can buy delicious charcuterie or sit and drink a beer. Or a coffee if you must.
Charmant Studio far exceeded our expectations. It was very comfortable, excellent Kitchen and items that make a difference were provided. Butter, jams, teas, coffee, olive oil, salt & pepper. It was a delight to be able to cook some meals. The garden and sitting area, complete with a hammock was a very relaxing place to sit or have a meal.
Nyons has an excellent market, food, clothing, bags, hats etc and gets extremely busy, it is also a lovely friendly town.
The staff were fab and introduced us to a little bit of paradise in the beautiful town of Nyons. I loved this hotel, possibly my favorite of the road trip me and partner (now fiance) stayed at. The pool was great after a long drive and the mental Jacuzzi bath was fab too (scared the bejesus out of the missus). The breakfast was truly exceptional and the whole house was so elegant and different. I would love to have stayed for a lot longer!
Very good location in the beautiful city of Nyons. Close to the centre but still a very quiet stay. The garden is gorgeous with lots of shade in the warm summer days.
The host is very kind and always willing to take some extra steps for you. He gave us several nice tips about things to see in the environment.
Whenever we are in the area, we are certainly going to stay here again. Top location and host.

We have been to Nyons many times - first visit in 1972 when we were young-we call it “the front door to the Rhône Valley” - Nyons is a peaceful and very nice old town - good restaurants & cafe’s - went to our favorite Domaine Alery winery in Cairanne - and to Nyons Cooperative for Nyons olives.

Very friendly people. It’s a beautiful renovated hotel in an old building. We got an upgrade to a beautiful large room with a balcony overlooking the main square. Very clean room and bathroom. We could park our bicycles in a safely locked garage. Very good breakfast buffet.
Location is excellent for a city trip in Nyons. Chilling out in the garden under olive trees and cooling down in the refreshing pool is absolutely perfect after open market day. Very quiet place. Beds are ok. Parking available (for a price).
Very quiet and great location for walking into Nyons. Great breakfast. We had a fridge in our room which was very handy for drinks as it was very hot. Very relaxing pool area.
