The hotel was very charming, especially the gardens and pool area. Location is excellent.
All of the Management and staff were lovely, and provided friendly, helpful and relaxed service.
The food was delicious, but as we were staying for a week, we would have liked more variety in the menu.

Everything was super! It was comfortable, lovely and warm and very well equipped . It is located in a super position in walking distance to the town and Lascaux. It was a perfect base for my family. We recently had the pleasure of staying in a charming home in Montignac, and it was a wonderful experience. The home itself was exceptional. Nestled in a quiet, scenic part of town, it offered a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently close to local attractions. The house was beautifully maintained, with a blend of traditional charm. It was cozy and inviting, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of this home was its outdoor space. The garden was a serene oasis, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Greg was incredibly welcoming and attentive, providing us with all the information we needed about the house and the local area. He was always available to answer any questions and offered great recommendations for sights to see. (There was a whole book about these.) There were and 3 lovely & playful cats 🐈 😻. The home’s location made it easy to explore all that Montignac and the surrounding Dordogne region have to offer. Overall, our stay in Montignac was delightful. The beautiful home, combined with the warm hospitality and stunning surroundings, made for an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Montignac.🤍🩷

Everything was amazing and beautiful. Lady was very welcoming and nice. Beautiful nature and wood
You need a car, but parking isn‘t easy. Unfortunately, I wasn‘t prepared, so I had to scout things out. Because my days were filled, I often left too early or came back too late to enjoy all the opportunities available.

Montignac is a pretty small town with a good range of resto’s and bars, as well as a small supermarket. It’s very attractive with some preserved buildings from the late medieval period and a wide range from the 17th to 19th century. There’s a canoe hire place in the town too. Overall a well rounded small town.

This is a lovely old town on a winding river bank. There are lots of restaurants, pubs, and little shops to experience and explore. The area has much to offer to anyone interested in anthropology, good food, charming people, and gorgeous countryside.

A gem of a place! Delightful,
Medieval small town situated on a river. Canoes available for hire. Quaint shops and walks along the riverbank. Plenty of good eateries and coffee shops. Excellent accommodation centrally located too.

Beautiful old very French village with butcher, patisserie, tea shop with chocolates, lovely restaurants riverside, Good tourism bureau for maps, sites, etc. Good parking facilities. Easy to navigate tho narrow streets. I found it more to my liking than Sarlat which is larger and more commercial, but with more choices and a more beautiful old quarter.
I did the walking tour of Montignac which we very interesting. Montignac is home to that Hotel Rosarie, very upscale. So easy to travel to all the villages along the Dordogne. Directions are impeccable.

Montignac is too often seen as just the gateway to the Lascaux caves. It has its own particular charms. The River Vezere is beautiful and the riverside cafes and restaurants are delightful. People are friendly and welcoming. This is true at all times of the year. Visit in autumn or spring when the place is not crowded and there is more time to explore.
Quiet rural location. Friendly helpful welcome. Comfortable accommodation with good WiFi. Good value for money. The property has a private swimming pool but this is of modest size so for adults more for cooling off rather than actual swimming. Good sized rooms but note that the second bedroom has no window, is accessed through the first and is only separated by a curtain. The property is some distance from Montignac up steep hills so transport essential.
The hotel is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos, the rooms are beautifully designed and the views from each window are stunning. The staff looked after us so well, especially testing for them with our two noisy kids and covid restrictions. The food is delicious - both the breakfasts in the courtyard and dinners. We'd definitely recommend for family or adult holiday. Thank you for spoiling us so much!
The hotel is in a calm, safe location, about 600 metres from the centre of Montignac. With good car parking and a pleasant garden and terrace.
The new proprietors are good hosts and make their guests welcome, very responsive to individual requests.
The dinner provided to me, and two guests, was exceptional, without question the best cuisine available in Montignac at present (having lived there previously).
Our suite had an airy, roomy bedroom and a charming common kitchen where free coffee, tea, and cookies were offered. The host, Diane, was very friendly and accommodating. The owners charge a modest fee per night, which goes towards supporting art shows in the gallery below. Montignac-Lascaux is a pretty little town close to important archeological sites and lovely châteaux. We loved canoeing down the river.
Fantastic! Loved this little 'hotel'. One of the loveliest places I've stayed and would definitely stay again. Beautifully kept rooms and bathrooms, and having a kitchen was a brilliant additional bonus so we could sit and eat breakfast together and buy food from the local shops and market every morning. Addition of fans to the rooms was very much appreciated in the hot weather!!
terrific location in a tiny medieval village walking distance to Montignac, a large town with fantastic architecture from medieval period but with all the convenience needed, grocery stores, restaurances, wonderful views of the Vesere river, and most of all close to the Lascaux caves, a fabulous walk back 28,000 years ago, cave paintings by Cro Magnon Man
Wonderful old building and lovely garden in a really picturesque little square in the old town. Utterly charming. The hotel has a nice library available for guests if you need somethign to read, and reading rooms.
Restaurant is really good for the evening.
If you have special diet requirements call ahead, the owners are as accomodating as they can be.
Perfect location, centrally located in Montignac and easy driving to places of interest throughout the Dordogne. We used this as a base for walking and kayaking. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and the hosts were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was superb!
Central location in beautiful little medieval square. Villa well preserved with original features. Spacious and cool. Hotel pool and garden very special. Never crowded and very peaceful. Owners always at hand to assist. Dinner in hotel was fantastic.
Lots to recommend this wonderful hotel, including its great charm and idyllic location. But hands down the best thing was the staff. Everyone was exceptional - they couldn’t have been warmer or more helpful. We look forward to coming back again soon.
The hosts are lovely and all communication is quickly and easy. Perfect location in Montignac and the boulangerie is at the end of the road. If you are visiting in the summer, go to the biological swimming pool, it is a 10 minute walk away.
The location was fantastic walking distance to everything in Montignac and 800m to Lascaux and the apartment was light & very comfortable with an outdoor balcony out the back overlooking the Montignac rooftops.
Beautiful hotel with huge amazing grounds and lovely pool. Katia is a wonderful friendly hostess, we loved our room - Little Artist - with its flow of fresh air and flock of doves outside.
Ferme des petites Oreilles was fantastic, really idyllic. Lovely ancient building, even lovelier people and animals, great countryside and pool, near Montignac. Superb!
