The property is an authentic, rustic farm converted lovingly and carefully into a tasteful, comfortable and beautiful place to stay by the owners who have clearly put every effort and love into the renovation. They are also impeccable hosts who treat their guests like friends, taking care to remember our names. Maison D’Orride sits at the end of a track, with wonderful views of the Pyrenees. Leon the dog was there waiting for us, a gentle giant who my daughter loved. For dinner, we ate in the courtyard which has a beautiful acer tree. Marina made us a delicious pork, potato and aubergine dish followed by local cheeses and an amazing chocolate fondant. The wine was locally sourced. Breakfast was fresh fruit, yoghurt, breads and freshly baked cakes each morning. The pool area was spectacular with its views of the mountains and the whole property is incredibly clean and tidy. There are some “house rules” such as not to eating in rooms but with a property like this, it’s entirely fair. We loved it, thank you!

The owner was more than friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious. Homemade jams, fruit salad, sausages, cheese, yoghurt, fresh bread and pastry, fruit juices and fresh bread.
We stayed here because of the location (close but not too close to Lourdes & Pau) but were absolutely delighted by the property, the hosts, the accommodations, everything. Martin & Elaine offered us a warm welcome and a superb welcoming dinner. The moulin is beautifully restored, for the most part by their own hands. We greatly enjoyed our conversations with them and appreciated their recommendations for restaurants and places to see around Monein. They also had helpful advice for our travels in the Béarn and beyond.
The location was incredible, and totally unexpected. The hills, houses, woods and vineyards make for a beautiful place, and you can enjoy the views from the lovely garden (with chairs and tables). The room was spotless, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was abundant and the home-made yoghurt delicious!. Monein has a good tourist information centre and restaurant. I would totally recommend coming here.
We had a short stay at the hotel, as we had a wedding close. Chateau Roquehort is a charming and quiet bed and breakfast, managed by a nice British couple. It is very well located in the middle of the Jurançon wine wards, close to Pau. The breakfast is tasty and full of fruits and bakeries.
