A charming, although a bit dark, little apartment in the heart of Les Mees, with easy walking to the rocks, the church and restaurants. The kitchen was a great size and the apartment felt very spacious. The parking was in the central square and quite close by although it did seem as if it could get quite busy. The lane would technically fit a car for drop off of luggage, but it would be a squeeze.

We arrived at La Bonne Etape after a long car ride - were feeling tired . This hotel had been selected as our " splurge " hotel as it had a Michelin star restaurant and was a Chateau and Relais hotel. When we arrived we were greeted outside the front doors by our wonderful host Stephanie. She was most welcoming - got us settled and made us a reservation for dinner at Cafe Gabby. It was so nice not to have to go out to find a restaurant - ate at Gabby twice.Our Michelin star meal was for our last night.Our room was spacious and had a lovely view of the pool , mountains and gardens.A carafe of water, biscuits and a lovely welcoming note were left in our room - a such a nice touch. Stephanie suggested what to do in the area and as well as walking trails close by.The public spaces were beautiful - filled with elegant furnishings and paintings. Our final dinner at Bonne Etape was beyond expectation - had wine pairings with the courses - amazing service, beautiful presentation on lovely serving dishes - very polished service.The Master Chef came around after the meal to see if we enjoyed our meal- an unexpected but very special surprise. Tuck in service in our room was appreciated each night with a special herbal tea and " jelly" candy! Tourist Brochure in the room was very handy. Huge fan of L'Occtaine - which was the toiletry product used.
La Magnanerie - Coté Bistro is located in Aubignosc, in the heart of Provence, just 10 km from Sisteron. It offers an upscale bistrot restaurant and an outdoor bar set under Moroccan tents.

This little village wasn't on my radar, but I chose to stay here because there was a great little apartment and it was on my way to where I needed to go. It is quite picturesque and the rocks were amazing. The Ganagobie Abbey is not far away and the town of Sisteron is also lovely.
