Check-in was easy and room was basic but pleasant with a comfortable bed. Not all the room lights worked. Breakfast was very good. CHaving paid on arrival, check-out was easy.
Château Camping de la Grange Fort is set in a castle surrounded by the Auvergne countryside in Les Pradeaux.

The castle looks great. Kids loved the pool. It’s a little out of the way but that wasn’t an issue.

If you are looking for a special experience, I recommend staying her. The building and grounds are an an actual castle built in the Italianate style (think Romeo & Juliet). The host and hostess were most accommodating. The grounds are extensive and include a very nice campground where the spaces are privately spaced with bushes & trees in between. There are laundry facilities. Some spaces have amazing views. The swimming pool is very large, with a play tower and two water slides. Our room was more than adequate, quite clean, with a balcony and a wardrobe.

A convenient stop over town with a carrefour for cheap petrol and food for the onward journey. Closed on a Sunday evening. We drove around town, but difficult to find a restaurant on a Sunday evening. Had to eat in a horrid Buffalo grill next to our hotel.

We had no time to visit Issoire.
We had no time to visit Issoire. We only wanted an overnight stop. For that purpose the Ace was perfect. Very close to junction 12 on the A75 -- easy to arrive and depart.
The hotel was simple, clean, the room comfortable and larger than many motels. The breakfast was copious and offered a good choice of high quality food.
Clean, comfortable, extremely well equipped. Parking across the road. Clear and concise instructions on how to gain entry. Location is superb, it is just outside of the town centre so a very short walk for bars and restaurants.
Perfect as a base for a tour of the Auvergne
Easy to find. We could write an essay on this place but you need to stay for yourself. On a return to is as Issoire, we'd definitely stay again.
The apartment was compact but cosy, warm despite the snow outside. It had everything you would need for a couple to stay for a short while and the location was great. Free parking opposite with facilities close by. We might well stop again on a future trip through France to see something of the town.
