Our expectations were low, as wel booked late and it was one of the only things that had a free room.
The hotel was a bit older as was the infrastructure. But it was really nice. Really comfortable and the staff was exceptionally nice. The hotel is in a lovely town that's easy to reach and from which you can easily go to other towns for the Wine-route.
Situated in Phalsbourg, Le Hameau Des Sens has a garden. Free private parking is available and the hotel also features car hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area.
Located in Danne-et-Quatre-Vents in the Lorraine region, Logis Hôtel Notre-Dame - restaurant ouvert midi et soir sauf dimanche soir is a 10-minute drive from Saverne.

Firstly, let me say without question that the staff were very hospitable and friendly and went out of their way to help.
Furthermore, the setting is superb and there is plenty of parking, so on paper this hotel ticked all our required boxes. We did not use the spa facilities so cannot comment.
However...
Located in Saverne city centre, L'Hôtel Europe is just 150 metres from the train station. All of the rooms at L'Hôtel Europe feature an LCD TV with satellite channels and a minibar.

Although the breakfast is usually served from 8.00 the service managed to prepare something much earlier (due to my early departure). Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. The place itself is charming, seems like a family owned with long tradition. It is clear that the owners care a lot about the place and cleanliness. I enjoyed much my stay there.
The Hotel Logis is located in a former hunting lodge in Birkenwald, 35 km from Strasbourg. It combines en suite accommodation with spa facilities including a hammam, sauna and indoor swimming pool.
