Ferney-Voltaire's value lies mainly in the fact that it is linked to expensive Geneva: busses go between the two and you can walk across the border. However, the little town also offers excellent bakeries, supermarkets, green spaces and parking. Importantly, there is also easy and regular transport to Geneva airport, though make sure you know how to get to the Swiss side or the French side for departing flights. For solo foot travellers it is a valuable alternative to access Geneva without a car.

Just another cheaper alternative for Geneve on the French side. It's rather suitable to those, who need the airport, for all the rest you better choose Annemasse, which is connected much better with Geneve and has more to provide on its own either.

Currently the area feels like a building site (June 2023). It’s is very dusty at times and the pavement on the walk to the hotel was full of rubble, which wasn’t easy to navigate through with a suitcase on wheels.
There is a lot of building work going on just outside the centre of town and it can be noisy for hotel guests

Ferney is of course the jumping off point for Geneva.
Ferney is of course the jumping off point for Geneva. The fact is though that it’s got a good selection of groceries, lots of great restaurants, stores, banks, transport etc. it’s also pretty and has a lovely Saturday market with tons of affordable high quality food. The history drew me to Ferney as well, since it’s been hundreds of years of it being where people go to get away from how dull Geneva can be haha.

Breakfast not provided by this type of accomodation as expected. The location was 15 minutes from Airport and main City by frequent and reliable public transport. The pickup of key from nearby reception at local hotel was well organised and happened exactly as stated by the owner. The Owner provided a bus timetable which allowed us to use the buses to meet tours in the City and also get to the airport at the end of our stay. Met the Owner by chance on the last day and he was a friendly and considerate young man. Would recommend this place.
The environment was modern and clean. We loved the bed for it was firm and was the best sleep we had the entire trip. We’re not keen on soft beds!
The location was convenient to the bus and an easy ride to Geneva. The staff was exceptionally helpful and provided assistance to all our needs (taxi to airport, bus tickets, charger adaptor). Great buffet breakfast well worth the extra charge. We will surely stay there again!

Very well-appointed unit, clean, well-lit with excellent internet. Very comfortable and clean place. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed comfortable and access and egress very clear. The host was helpful and an excellent communicator. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Ferney-Voltaire again.
The only thing standing out is the kindness of the staff. They opened breakfast earlier for us (6am), they were very helpful with everything else including airport transfers. The hotel itself is very basic but the people are amazing.
Great hotel, modern, stylish. 5 minute walk to a very local, very French, very untouristy village with a great morning market on Saturday. Area good for jogging in very nice rural surroundings. Close to the UN in Geneva.

Nice and way cheap stay for the night. I needed to change the travel date to which booking itself was no help. So I called the hotel and the change in date could be arranged very easily even without extra fee!
This is a basic hotel in a location we required at a cheap price. We have stayed here for one or two nights over many years and know what to expect, a very basic hotel.
Having tried other hotels in Ferne, Appart’City is absolutely the best. You get multiples of what you expect in service and comfort at an affordable rate!
