    My second visit.

My second visit. A lovely town with good choice of restaurants. Quiet but with everything you could need and the added bonus of the Avenue du Champaign. The Avenue is a good option for pre dinner drinks in the grounds of the champaign houses too. I prefer Epernay to Reims as a place to stay and it was so easy to get to Reims by train that I felt we had made the choice for the best of both worlds. Taxi's and ubers can be a bit hit and miss and take a while to arrive so dont leave it till the last minute

Very disappointing to visit at Easter - most of the champagne houses were closed and the good restaurants were all full. I have been before in the summer when its much better. I must recommend Kitsch Cafe - literally the best coffee I have tasted in France.

A lovely city with plenty to see and visit, lovely bars, restaurants and cafes. Of course the champagne tasting is a must and we found a town called Monthelon with wonderful tasting at a small champagne house called Denis Frezier. A must if you visit this area.

Epernay is an easy drive from Paris or take a train.

Epernay is an easy drive from Paris or take a train. There is a lot to see and do and beautiful countryside and small villages to explore if you are into food and wine it is a paradise but remember bookings are often required moths in advance for some tours. Be aware it does not target the budget traveller so be prepared. there are cheaper meal options and great shops with ready prepared french classics to re heat. Overall a great place to Base yourself. We try and Stay at La Mignonette it is well located with parking and your own kitchen and laundry. it helped stretch the budget.

Amazing place if you love Champagne but also if you want to learn more. The newly opened museum is very useful to understand how nature and human genius created the Champagne success. People are generally very kind and smiling. We had the pleasure to have a tasting in Champagne Michel Gonet which we suggest. The only bad experience has been with the lousy service of the "Brasserie de la Banque". We booked a table 3 days before going there because of a special occasion and received the confirmation. We entered on the booked evening at 19.50 and at 20.28 no one came even to ask us if we wanted to drink something. We simply left and the old person at the entrance (who showed us the table 30 minutes before) even did not notice it . Fortunately there is the place "Brasserie Le Progres" in face of it. We have been happily there three times in three days

Our friends recommended we stay in Epernay rather than Reims and I am glad we did. Epernay and the main street which is world heritage listed is lovely to stroll up and down, and it's easy to pop into a champagne house for a quick drink. Make sure you book your Champagne House Tours months in advance as we left it late and missed a few of our favourites. We drove to Reims for Veuve, Pommery and Mumm and Moet and many others are in Epernay. Reims was about 30min drive and the champagne houses provide parking.

It is one of the most central and stylish apartment in Epernay. It is our 4th visit to the town and surely the best apartment that we have found so far. It is around the corner from the market, the Avenue Champagne is 3 minutes and all the shops and bistros are just a couple of minutes walk away. The place is really really equipped with all possible things that one might need. Bonus point for the nice plates and glassware, which is not just the regular ikea style.

Located incredibly on the Avenue de Champagne, this hotel was perfect for a one night stopover as we worked our way down to the South of France. Lovely staff, great parking and brilliant breakfast. Would recommend for a quick Champagne stay as you can easily spend the afternoon strolling down the Avenue stopping at the various champagne houses. Dog and baby friendly, they made us very welcome.

This is a really lovely building in an excellent location for exploring central Epernay, and the champagne houses. The hotel itself is really charming, super clean and lovely design objets everywhere. Its more of a B&B though.
