My husband and I stayed here a few years ago . This time it was an emergency as we had lost our passports and needed somewhere to stay close to Caen Ferry port. On arrival we explained to the owners we were having to travel to Paris to collect emergency travel documents within the next few days . They helped us so much, advising train travel and where to park the car at Caen station. They willingly looked after our luggage until we returned. They are very special people and we hope to return under less stressful circumstances.

Beautiful building and court yard. We were able to park out motorbikes in secure courtyard and dry our wet kit hung up in the garage.

The fact that it had air con was the reason I booked it. It did have air con but I was told by one staff member it didn’t work, another said it only comes on when it’s hot which wasn’t true as others in the group managed to get there’s on. Basically it was broken in my room and didn’t work at all.

The location was ideal for visiting Omaha beach, its museum, the American military cemetery at Colleville s/Mer and the Bayeux tapestry. However, parking in Douvres town centre was really difficult which meant that we didn't get to the restaurant that we wanted to visit and opted for eating at home.

Town allows swift access to the beaches nearby (Lion sur mer, Luc sur mer) by bicycle via nice bike paths.
