Pleasant staff, convenient to have food available. However, I do think it is rather expensive

Once we got in it was very nice. Host very friendly and helpful. Private garden lovely - though unfortunately rainy weather prevented taking advantage. Very quiet. Very calm. Interesting artefacts to see in house. Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Good heating and good shower. Good recommendations for excellent nearby restaurant. Quality ingredients in breakfast - real fresh orange juice for example. Not for those who like something modern though.

Breakfast was excellent, choice of continental or full English, croissants, jam, cake. Hosts spoke English and were very friendly and welcoming. Accomodation was clean, spacious and well equipped.

An unusual French City in that the Flemish background is very apparent. The old part is attractive but the newer part is not an area that I wanted to walk into. The belfry is magnificent. There are not that many good restaurants but being close to Belgium there is more decent beer than you could possibly drink in a few days. Nice enough for 2 days but no more.

Charming city. Lovely river/canal area.
Charming city. Lovely river/canal area. Quiet and not touristy. The Town Hall is a beautiful building. Well worth a stop. We ate at the Le Soleil De Tunis restaurant - North Africans cuisine. Lovely friendly place. Recommended.
It is close to the centre of Douai and thus ticks that box. It is also in a pleasant and quiet square. Our room costs £98 a night which is cheap by today's standards. This was during the rugby World Cup when most hotels were profiteering by charging exorbitant prices of 2-4 times true cost, so that was a plus point and was why I chose this hotel over others.
Large house with lots of space. Very nicely decorated and accessorised. Host very helpful and left lots of supplies which was much appreciated. Good wifi, strong shower, comfortable beds. Surprisingly quiet location at night. Free street parking right outside. We always managed to find a space. Good location, 10 minute walk to centre of Douai.
We spent one night at Douai House, and it was perfect! The center of Douai is just few minutes away on foot. The apartment is spacious and comfortable for a family of four, and the kitchen is well equipped for a short stay.
We were on a stopover in the city, so to have access codes to get inside the building and apartment was very pratical.
We were looking for a clean, basic stopover for the night and this hotel fit the bill. We did not want to be in the town centre as we were driving out the next morning. Breakfast the next morning was 10 Euro/person. It offered a good variety. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though we did not speak French we figured everything out.
All the staff were very nice.
And when we paid the bill and explain the negative points of the room the Manager took our comments in really good part.
And said we had the worst room in the hotel which I thought was incredible honest. We were traveling with our dog so sometimes you do get a more shabby room which we understand.
Modern conversion of an older house, with wooden beams and (steep) wooden staircase, so a lot of character. Kitchen and sitting room could be used, shared with other residents (whom I didn't meet). Good value for money (though shared toilet) and in a quiet street,
a short walk from the centre of Douai and from the station
This property is in a very safe and quite area of Douai close to the centre , supermarket and garage . One of the best places I have stayed in, in a long time ( 20 nights ) . The room and bathroom were spotless with wifi , tv , fridge and hotplate for cooking . Would stay here again . Brilliant.
The hotel is in an excellent location for walking into the city centre. The couple running the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional with so much to eat and of such good quality. Too much for us after a big dinner the previous evening.
We have stayed here pre Covid this was the first time since. The hotel is a little tired and voild do with a spruce up.
The is limited free parking at the front of the Hotel albeit accessvwas difficult due to a fete.
It is in the centre of the town near a canal.
