The house is on 3 intriguing levels ,the rooms are characterful and spacious, retaining an authentic feel , with polished wood floors, fresh linens, generous towels; the luxurious bathrooms are a haven for pampering. .The garden room and lawned courtyard are perfect to enjoy summer morning breakfast or summer evening relaxation.The fully equipped kitchen and dining room is available for guests to use so you can make use of the vibrant ,twice- weekly market with every kind of fresh produce available and other nearby stores.There is a great choice of cafes ,bars and good restaurants ,patisseries, a swimming pool, within a short stroll away. too .I hope I have a chance to stay again before this exceptional B&B , located close to a picturesque bridge crossing the Charente, finds new owners to carry on the hospitable welcoming of its guests through its delightful solid oak doors!

Well equipped, everything you need for a comfortable stay. The private garden and outdoor seating, lovely sitting outside, enjoying a glass or two! Tastefully furnished, many finishing touches. Lovely hosts. Great breakfast. Overall, great value for money, our second stay and would always stay here, if passing through again on our way to Spain. Certainly the best accommodation we experienced on our Spanish/French trip. Congratulations, Lesley and Mark!

Beautiful Location, close to town with lots of amenities and pub within a 10 minute walk. Mark and Michelle were so warm and welcoming on our arrival. They’ve obviously poured a lot of love and effort into renovating the property and the Gîte which shines through, it really felt like a home from home. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Everything was absolutely brilliant. The most beautiful home to stay in and the hosts were exceptional. It was like staying in the best dressed show home you could imagine, everything was prestine.

We had a delightful two week stay
The location and the residence was amazing. The environment was beautiful with loads of character. The interior of the house was very traditional which, off course, has to match your taste. It matched the character of the entire facility, for sure, and we ended up only sleeping and showering inside the house. All other time was spent in the garden or the environment.
The facility had a beautiful pool, with salty water. I like that over water with chlorinated water. The obligated pool alarm worked a little tricky and it was initiated sometimes unexpected. The barn was loaded with toys. floating thing for in the pool, a badminton net and rackets, a table-tennis set and also a couple of bikes we could use to explore and enjoy the environment. And the environment is marvellous to explore. A lot of D-roads with hardly any traffic and a lot of french countrysite character. Jolly good! It's therefor very suited for guests with children.
The courtyard exceeded all our expectations. We love enjoying a beautiful courtyard with natural shade provided by trees. WE coudl sit there all day long and more importantly, all night long. Where, in some cases environmentally influences, like insects will force you to go inside the house when the evening falls, we could stay in the charmingly lit garden almost all night long.
I hope the owner will sell it sometime in the future and only tell me about it ;-).

A quaint and quiet small town in Poitou Charente.
A quaint and quiet small town in Poitou Charente. Friendly people, and just the right number of shops to get everything you need, without the feel of a large town or city. Fantastic restaurant in town, and a couple of smaller cafes, pharmacy, epicerie and boulangerie, with lots of supermarkets and shops in Savigne just 3 kms away. Great base for exploring SW France.
