The hotel appeared to be used primarily by lorry drivers. The food was a delight, and the atmosphere in the dining room was wonderful. The staff were very friendly.

We found Châtellerault to be a little gem.
We found Châtellerault to be a little gem. We've stayed in most of the larger towns is this region as overnights to south France/Spain and this has many of their charms but, being smaller, meant things like parking and finding somewhere to eat was easier.
Very easy to walk around, enough places to eat so that there was no need to worry about finding somewhere but also have some choices, and the river walk is very pleasant - especially in the sun.

Clean and basic rooms.
Clean and basic rooms. Stayed with my dog and it did us well. Ability to check in at any time using the machine is a great feature. The nearby wine shop/bar in the industrial area nearby is very good.

Google maps didn't help with finding the hotel, had to ask several people, took a while! (it's about 1 mile North of the town centre, on a 'trading estate'). There are some places to eat within walking distance.
Hotel itself is ok, clean, staff helpful, breakfast basic but ok.

The centre is attractive and a very nice old church on the way. There were plenty of Restaurants and a square for sitting out. We ate at an Italian which was good, and value for money. Walking is easy in the town and a nice bridge over the Loire into the town. We are not young so nightlife was not a priority! Cycling is easy round the town.

Fantastic place to stay between our trip from Spain to Paris...
Fantastic place to stay between our trip from Spain to Paris. The service, communication, cleanliness of the rooms and kindness of the host were all very appreciated. Local tips were suggested for eating out and where to watch the World Cup. Wonderful, comfortable stay.
Great location for a night on our way from Spain to the ferry, it made a nice change from staying in a hotel. Huge room with table and chairs and a kitchen area. Comfortable bed, had a good nights sleep. Parked easily opposite the building. A short walk into the town, where there were plenty of shops, bars and eateries, We had a lovely meal in the creperie, and drinks in one of the bars.
I always use this hotel on my way to Spain. It's very convenient and has things around it which are useful such as a wine shop and McDonald's. It's a stones throw from the motorway which is also a huge plus. It's great value and you get what you pay for. For the price, self check in at any time. This is worth it alone.
Not far from a restaurant. Painless checkin and checkout. Hotel has its own car park which is better than parking on the street. Hotel is located just off from an industrial area but Google know where it is and how to get there. Close to the main road to Tours so easy access, the downside to that was some road noise.
The hotel was just what a hotel needs to be: comfortable, all facilities fine. The hotel owner is very friendly and helpful (I left something in the room, and he immediately contacted me on how to return it to me). Also a good place to leave my bicycle safely. Excellent breakfast as well, with good quality bread etc.
Although, as these budget hotels often are, it was located on an industrial estate, there were several restaurants within easy walking distance.
Close to the autoroute, so ideal as an overnight stop when travelling down through France.
The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were very friendly and the food at the restaurant was excellent. It was also a short cycle into the town from the hotel.
