The locality of this hotel was perfect, it was adjacent to the station, not that there was any train noise to notice. It was a main transport link between La Rochelle and Bordeaux. Also, a bus route was also available.
The beach was a 5 minute gentle stroll through a beautiful parc which led straight onto the esplanade which has a good variety of bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours and creperies.
The ibis styles La Rochelle Thalasso Chatelaillon is located 14 km from La Rochelle and just a 5-minute walk from the beach.

The spa facilities are especially good, the spa hydro-pool is excellent. Good size steam and sauna rooms, with great outside and inside relaxation areas. The hotel has a good reasonably priced restaurant. Good amble self service breakfast, with large choice. Fair size rooms which were clean and in general condition.

We booked two rooms, double and family
Our double room was good and had air conditioning but the family room that slept 2 adults a toddler and baby didn’t so consequently the room was stiflingly hot , would recommend the hotel think about this.
Breakfast was super and enjoyed by all our family

Location close to the town and beach, Bicycle storage, well equipped kitchen, radiators (we were there in cold, rainy weather) , sky light in the bedroom, terrace and swimming pool area looked great but not the weather to use them during our stay.

Long level sea front with plenty of restaurants. Sandy beach safe for children to play. Not far from La Rochelle if you need a more lively environment.
We've visited several times before and it seems to have a warm climate in sheltered bay (unless wind directly from the west) Dogs not allowed on beach during season.

It was beautifully clean; beach, town, park. We arrived at the hotel a few minutes before 2pm and were told we were too late for anything to eat but a short walk along the promenade brought us to a restaurant, next door to La Croisette, which had wonderful food and were open all afternoon. I had the best vegan salad I have had after living in France for 5 years. We returned here and found their friendliness and willingness to be flexible (hot choc with my own oat milk) really welcoming. We also found the Creole take away food very good.
It is easy to walk from the beach into town and the coop had good fresh fruit and veg and was well stocked. I even found quinoa bread there! There is a delightful little park between town and beach where we had a picnic breakfast and again it was lovely and clean.
Obviously, during the pandemic most people were wearing masks and were social distancing. Maybe less people who were in couples walking on the promenade or cycling along the cycle path. In the restaurants people came in wearing masks and disinfectant hand wash was in operation, less obviously in the hotel.
We were only there for a couple of days but would go back any time. In fact it was 30C on the beach and this week it is 34C again and I would love to be on the beach!

15 minutes south of La Rochelle by car was an excellent location for us. Resort relatively small (& quiet in late June) with a great beach, plenty of restaurant choices, a super covered market and a few boutique shops.

We have recently returned from a week at this hotel and we had such a lovely time. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the location was perfect and the food great. We actually ate at the hotel a lot more than we had originally intended to as we liked the restaurant there. The spa facilities were great, we had two kids with us who were happy with the pool and the beach. It was a great spot to explore the local area such as the beaches of Il de Rey and the restaurants and shops of La Rochelle. We would go again.
We had a suite with ocean view, it was spectacular. The cleanliness, the veiw, the space, the aircon, the comfy beds were all top notch. The staff were very professional and helpful. The variety of the food at breakfast was brilliant and the breakfast room itself was beautiful. The hotel is right on the beach. The town itself is beautiful with nice restaurants and a kids funfair (half price Wednesdays).
This was the perfect choice for holidaying with our toddler, as a hotel would have been much more restrictive and inconvenient, whereas here we genuinely felt like home (with the added bonus of having the ocean literally on the doorstep).
The location is fabulous, has the charm of a traditional fishing village, and the convenience of a beach holiday resort too. The best of both worlds!
This is an exceptional hotel in every way. It is immaculately clean, incredibly well run, super friendly and provides everything you could possibly need. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable and I sensed that repeat bookings are very common for this hotel. Breakfast is excellent and the location perfect.
Reception on arrival was very welcoming. Description of the hotel was precise and our cosy room was lovely. Breakfast was excellent and we particularly liked the greeting from the owners and staff in explaining where everything was.
We only stayed one night and would certainly look to booking again if we visit this area.
The room was comfortable and clean. Wifi was good, and the hotel was just one street away from the beach. The hotel also provided beach towels if requested. Really good value for the price. The hotel is run by a family and they are extremely kind and helpful.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is located just a block away from the beach and near several bars and restaurants. There is a garden with table and a summer kitchen with microwave and fridge for clients.
The staff were lovely, the location fantastic and the dinner and breakfast very good. We only booked to spend the night on a longer journey but I was very impressed. A simple place, but excellent for a 2* hotel.
it’s a beautiful well equipped hotel, very close to the sea front. very clean rooms and pool area. A highlight was a personal tour of the town in Fredericks mini Moke. 10/10 from this very well travelled couple.
